I love that bit in the lego movie where Will Ferrell argues that lego isn't a toy

Lego's neat in that it can cater to many flavours and types of people, from model builders to young players. I loved the like of Exo-Force as a kid, for instance, due to it being about mecha, but I also enjoyed playing with the builds they gave as well.

Yeah anyone who says lego isn't a kids toy is a fool. But that's not to say adult can't enjoy building with it too. I still get some fun out of building shit.

Indeed, though I do think things like Mindstorms are a little more adult oriented in general, given their nature.

Hmm, I think Mindstorms is definitely still for kids, maybe slightly older kids... but again, that's not to say it doesn't appeal to adults

To a degree perhaps, but they do require some knowledge of programming. Still irks me it took them so long to actually add that in to IT lessons.

Talking of Lego, my cousin was responsible for building the enormous Lego Christmas tree outside St Pancras Station, if anyone saw that!

LEGO filled a good part of my childhood, namely with the classic bricks and the LEGO Technic's recent bet of the time (BIONICLE). If any of you didn't see the LEGO movie, please do. It is definitely one of the best animation movies I've seen up to date. Prepare to laugh a lot!
Shame I couldn't experience the Mindstorm line at the time, those toys were pricey.

For a minute I thought you were referring to BIONICLE: The Mask of Light, and wondered how you could esteem it quite that highly

(though I love that movie)

Hmm, on the topic of Bionicle, the rebooted sets are out now, right?

The fella who voiced Tahu in that film was Scott McNeil, he was also known for voicing various characters in Beast Wars, such as Rattrap, Dinobot and Waspinator.

Oi, I still have a Buzz action figure when I was like 4 or 5 years old. And not only that but I have a ton of Toy Story toys in a container somewhere in my garage. The oldest thing I do have is a Woody doll that came from a Burger King Kids' Meal.

Ah no!

Not talking about the Mask of Light but yes the LEGO Movie. Should have rephrased better. Talking about TMOL, I remember to love it as a kid but when I rewatched it years later... godness, there are so many stuff wrong with it!

It's obvious that movie was just made to promote sales of back then popular sets.

God, that movie defined my childhood. It's an utter cheesefest, but the score was pretty nice. BIONICLEs were my favourite toys as a child (with Bratz a close second) so I lapped it all up. I remember being ACTUALLY surprised when it turned out Takua was the seventh toa SPOILERZ which says a lot about how bright a kid I was...

You're actually hiding spoilers for a terrible 12 year old direct to dvd hour long toy commercial?

Hey, I'm nothing if not considerate

But it can hardly be called a toy commercial when the mighty and terrible Bohroks were reduced to merely a couple of seconds of comic relief...
Direct to VHS, you should say! I've still got the video I think.

Ah I remember getting my first bohrocks, the red one and the green one, I recently found a brand new red one for cheap on ebay and it's still sitting in my room, unopened

I had a white one, a kohrak, it was the most beautiful of all the bohroks
