I've done that a couple times in the ending phases of each level, where I would collect the Ting under the wrong answers and not have the punishment itself activate, though I'd have to barely touch it. I assume there's this small area that would activate the event but the Ting is bigger than said area. Probably not what the bonus question had in mind but I found it interesting when I first had that happen!
They usually use a Gendoor Size 4, which is the same size as a Ting. They may have misaligned them slightly, or you may have been one of those Rayman Junior builds that makes the hitzones for objects the same size as their sprites (i.e. bigger than usual)…
But yeah, there is a way to collect the Ting, have the Gendoor activated, and still avoid instant death!
Question 29: (DaveRattlehead still cannot answer) Where is the first possible place Electoons can be seen in Rayman 1 gameplay (not cutscenes / vignettes)?

That would be the first time an enemy can kill Rayman, which I believe is the first anti-toon in the second part of Pink Plant Woods.
As for the second bonus question, here's the answer: if your Ting counter is at 49, and you collect the Ting over an incorrect answer, you will survive. That's because the 50th Ting gives you a new life, which then somehow downgrades the insta-kill prickly ball to a normal single hit for a brief period. You will lose one hitpoint, but since you have a new life, this cannot possibly kill you, and you just get knocked back. As long as you avoid the prickly ball for the rest of the session, you will have gotten away with the wrong answer!
It happened to me once as a kid, when I mistakenly selected 33 as an answer in "'copter Candy", where you're supposed to select numbers where the units are strictly less than the tens. I had zero lives left so I thought I was toast, but then I just got knocked back, and thanked my lucky stars for the glitch. I never understood why until I saw this video years later though:
Anyway, congratulations dr_st! Question 30: Will you host the next session?
I'll deal with the Ting rewards (and my Special Rank!) presently…

Yes, I will, and thank you!
I should be able to start towards the end of the month, and not before the 22nd (per the 2-week rule).
More details later...

Congratulations dr_st! And thanks PluM for hosting, and for this very interesting piece of information about red spiky balls, I had no idea about this until now! Maybe this is worth mentioning on the wiki, too.

Now there's an idea!
I decided to make a video demonstrating the glitch just to prove to myself that I wasn't going crazy:I recreated the exact moment from my childhood, using the Dosbox debugger to set my Ting count to 49, as required to trigger the glitch, and my Life count to zero (it had been 82 ) [It might have been better to annotate it and have a slomo replay – it was only after I uploaded it that I realized the YouTube Video Editor is no longer a thing! ]

Wow, that’s actually pretty neat. I should try doing this glitch next time (it’ll probably only happen by chance though when I’m playing haha)!
Anyways congratulations dr_st!

Thanks, guys!
So, as I said - I will be starting any time between 2 weeks from now and the end of the month. I want to try something a bit different.
In order to celebrate the upcoming 10-year anniversary of Rayman Legends (and just because I feel like it), I want to start off with a Legends marathon. This means the first 10 questions of the season will be based on material from Rayman Legends.
I am giving this heads-up now so that everyone who wishes to participate, and feels not fully up to speed on Legends can refresh their memory, by playing the game, watching videos or just reading on the Wiki.

Great idea! And like PluM, I can't believe it's been ten years already.
Thanks a lot, that's perfect! One more question though, is the same true for red antitoons?

I've never tried that but it should be easy enough to check! I imagine it is the same since they all use pretty similar code iirc...

I would assume so, but better check first.

Hello and welcome to Season 135 of TTQ! If unsure about the rules - please check the first post of this thread.
As mentioned earlier, this season starts with a Rayman Legends marathon. This means the first 10 questions of the season will be based on material from the game.
Question 1: In Rayman Legends, describe 4 different interactions between the Heroes and the Dark Teensies.

When the dark teensy is oiling his flying thing
When the female teensy gets stolen
When the dark teensy gets caught
When you blast the dark teensy away

Looking for something more specific here, but I will give you a chance to clarify.
Greengoop wrote: Mon Jul 31, 2023 8:33 amWhen the dark teensy is oiling his flying thing
And then what happens?
Greengoop wrote: Mon Jul 31, 2023 8:33 amWhen the dark teensy gets caught
I don't think it is a separate interaction, as it is either the ending part of the chase, or the event immediately preceding being blasted away.
So there is still one missing.
Anyone else is welcome to answer too.

Ok how about when they get the female teensy back?

Also, the interaction you have with him oiling his thingy ends with him summoning whatever enemy is in the level
(Toad, dragon, hydra)

OK, I will take it as close enough! You clarified the first point and indeed it is possible to view the "get the female teensy back" as a separate interaction from the kidnapping.
FWIW, the missing one I had in mind is - the Dark Teensy in Fiesta de los Muertos turns the heroes into ducks.
Scoreboard Greengoop: 1 point
Question 2: What is the maximum number of lums (without cheats, hacks, glitches) that can get obtained in The Mamma of All Nightmares (Back to Origins)? One answer per participant, please!
