Regarding message formatting - that's the easy answer - anyone can do what they want. I chose to do it the way I do to be visible and distinctive, but there are absolutely no rules, as long it is clear what the question is and the scoreboard is updated correctly.
Regarding content - the first post of this thread gives some guidelines on the type of questions that are preferred (see Hosting Seasons and Bonus Questions sections). They are not super-strict guidelines, and there is a lot of discretion given to the quizmaster.
I guess the only real rule is that it has to be related in some tangible way to a Rayman game or its characters. I also know that at one point anagrams (and perhaps other word games) were considered legitimate questions, but since then have become discouraged (in my opinion, rightly so).
Some ask more about gameplay (I think I lean in that direction myself), others about lore. Some folks like questions about pre-release / prototype / cancelled material, or technical information (like properties and quirks of specific releases).
Everyone also has some games in the series they like or know more than the others, and so might naturally gravitate towards those. Still it is better to have some variety in the subject, otherwise it tends to cater too much to participants who may have some very deep and specific knowledge, and shun the others.
For example, me starting with a Legends marathon this time is not common, and I announced it ahead of time, to give time to prepare.
Finally, I suggest you browse a couple of dozen pages back in this thread to see how the few previous seasons went. It will give you some idea as to what questions are generally asked and how they are responded to. You can also use the search function to see if a particular question has been asked before, if you don't want to repeat it. Not that it matters much - the quiz has been running for so long that some things have been asked multiple times and forgotten since.
