That's OK for films, but not for videogames.I wouldn't have noticed Wii wasn't HD if I hadn't read itHaruka wrote:I believe nowadays many people do care about resolution, I for example bought How to Train Your Dragon in Blu-Ray in order to appreciate more the graphism of the movie.

Exactly what I'm saying.Graphics and resolution aren't the most important things in videogames and I prefer an interesting game with motion controls than a simple game but with HD and good graphics...spiraldoor wrote:So you’re saying high resolution is ‘okay’ for films but ‘doesn’t really matter’ for games? It's not false. The PS3 and XBox360 have both very good graphics but in my opinion they don't have a great gameplay. They have been just te same since XBox and PS1.Nintendo may not make the best graphics but they al least change the gameplay with every new console!spiraldoor wrote:Great, now we’ve cycled back round to the traditional ‘great graphics and great gameplay are mutually exclusive’ Wii defence fallacy.

Sorry, but you are disastrously wrong on all counts. If you seriously think the PS3 and Xbox 360 (not to mention the PC) are no better than a PS1 in terms of gameplay, you obviously have not played many games on those systems. Many of the most interesting and entertaining games I’ve ever played were recent PS3 and PC releases. It sounds like you have been brainwashed by Nintendo’s marketing department. I find it sad that the implementation of a Wiimote which must be waggled around is enough to satisfy you as the sole upgrade from one generation to the next. Go and play Carnival Games or something.TeensieKing wrote:It's not false. The PS3 and XBox360 have both very good graphics but in my opinion they don't have a great gameplay. They have been just te same since XBox and PS1.Nintendo may not make the best graphics but they al least change the gameplay with every new console!

Yes,it is.For not adding anything new and innovative. They always wait for Nintendo to do something and copy it as usually, like they did with the motion controlsHaruka wrote:It isn't the fault of the console companies for the gameplay quality of its games.

‘Innovation’ is one of Nintendo’s most insidious buzzwords. Sadly they seem to have succeeded in convincing a significant number of gamers that ‘innovations’ are all that matter. I see nothing particularly interesting about motion controls; they are simply a slightly different way of playing a game. At best a mild increase in fun, and at worst a game-breaking inconvenience. I would never choose a Wiimote over a traditional controller, or a mouse and keyboard. I think it’s a shame that Sony and Microsoft jumped on the motion-control bandwagon, but considering the money to be made I can hardly blame them.TeensieKing wrote:Yes,it is.For not adding anything new and innovative. They always wait for Nintendo to do something and copy it as usually, like they did with the motion controlsHaruka wrote:It isn't the fault of the console companies for the gameplay quality of its games.

1.PS3 and PS1 have the same gamepla. I've played both and I have found no differences between them in terms of gameplay, just the menu, online added and inalambric controllers.spiraldoor wrote:The PS3 is not ‘a simple PS1’; they are radically different systems, and to say that they are the same solely because the differences in their controllers are less than extreme is simply ludicrous. The Wii and GameCube are far more similar in every way that matters. The PlayStation Move is hardly ‘shitty’; it is a more precise and all-round superior device to the Wiimote. The only criticism I have heard of the Move is ‘Nintendo did it first’, which does not hold water. I simply do not like motion-controllers, and unlike you it does not matter to me which corporation manufactures them. You claim that ‘what matters is having fun’; I don’t agree that the Wii is inherently more ‘fun’ than any other system, and moreover this is a shockingly narrow attitude towards the videogame medium. There is no reason why games should not be beautiful; look at Rayman Origins. Maybe you will change your mind when screenshots of the Wii version are released and you can see for yourself the severe reduction in quality.

I wasn't actually referring to "Move" when I said that.I was referring to the normal controller, you can use its motion capabilities a bit in LBPHaruka wrote:The PS3 controller has got some sensibility to twisting. I noticed it when I played a little of Ratchet and Clank in a PS3 owner's house, once.
