reminds of an indecent last year where teenagers got mad they got kicked out (jumped the fence) and so they started... shooting fireworks at people?

Not many people in the UK have personal fireworks. Though in Germany and The Netherlands they love their illegal Polish fireworks so much they fight each other with ‘em!

YEah, but illegal fireworks do slip through! cuz fireworks are a HUGE market here.

Fireworks are mostly for Bonfire night here, though a few people just set them off randomly. Probably to get rid of some old ones.

Not really scary, but it is quite annoying whilst you try to sleep. There is also some fireworks at night in Summer in Broadstairs, no idea why though.

I don't think Vic is particularly resented here. It's more politicians and civil servants from that era we tend to despise. Like Trevelyan.
