Well, if you get the proprietary driver installed, and the graphics stack works for you (which it tends to do once all the details are ironed out), then games work very well. Especially native ones, but also those Windows games that work with Wine. But owing to NVIDIA's design decisions you're largely restricted to using X11 instead of Wayland desktops, i.e. obsolescent technology, and you also live in fear of a kernel update breaking the driver.
