Of course I'd like them to move on (I wouldn't want anyone plunging into the life of a depressed widower), but I wouldn't want them to ignore their feelings and just trot on. That would seem wrong. It's hard losing people you know and harder losing those you love. You're allowed to feel sad. Feeling sad is a good thing sometimes. Just don't lose yourself to your sorrow.
Indeed. Since I made regular conversation with Rayray, the initial shock of reading the news was absolutely horrible. I wanted to feel sad, very sad indeed, but I couldn't feel anything at all, which was even worse. I wanted to feel sad so that I would be able to rejoice his life afterward, and enjoy myself as well, but since that sadness never came, I couldn't find any kind of joy. Not that I was unable to commute to events that I regularly enjoy, but none of it felt righteous when I couldn't even properly comprehend his death. Today it's not as bad, but the feeling is entirely unfulfilled. I would more than anything wish to attend the dinner in tribute to him which could very well be the answer, but given my location, that's not possible.

Absence of a horrible feeling is sometimes stranger than the feeling itself. I remember once I was severely heartbroken and definitely sad, but couldn't quite cry or scream or whatever. I just felt... empty.
But finding out such young people are leaving this world so soon leaves me heartbroken too. If life's a bitch, death's her son.

I also don't cry when I am sad. I don't know why.

I have lot of trouble with my emotions, I don't control them so I turn into a huge mess.

I tend to have the odd outburst now and then, but for the most part, I'm usually rather reserved, I think.

Maybe because we are men and men don't cry.

At first I wasn't that sad but when I tried to reply to the thread the emotion of it all whacked me in the face. Then again I get too emotional about anything when I think about it too much.

That's not a reason. Everybody cries.

Men can cry, there is nothing retaining anyone from doing so if they are sad. Everyone is human and everyone have emotions, this is a stupid shit that doesn't make sense and is inhuman. I hate it.

Often when I hear something horrible I don't feel anything, but then maybe a few hours or a whole week later it suddenly comes out of the corner and slaps me in the face.

I have to agree what others responded to you. Just because I do not cry when I am sad does not mean I did not cry when I was a little kid or that I am not capable of crying now. Maybe one day I will be really sad and cry. Who knows?

What the fuck is it with Microsofts attempts at trying to caterize to their audience? It always makes me cringe, seriously:

So Microsoft is not allowed to have any fun, even if it's a pretty lameass joke? What's so bad about that?

wow that's rather the generalisation you have there
on topic, i don't really cry much myself. . 3 . i mean, generally when i'm sad about stuff it's either really inconsequential or everyone else is sad as well so i kind of have to keep everything together.

I shall remind you the word 'Maybe' in my post. And I don't know about other people and to be honest I never saw any male crying around like a mercy bitch. I took this statement from television.
And Keane, fuck you!

Well, this can only get worse.
Em, despite this whole manliness thing that males seem to have, they still feel emotion, and can and will cry when things become unbearable, if not in public, then definitely in private.
