No, as far as I know it's not possible to connect via an external IP address.

Really? It should still work, provided you disable your firewall for Rayman Arena (and maybe Hamachi).
You can find my old tutorial in the first post of this topic, but beware my twelve years old self's writing style...

Now that I have some programming skills, I could try to make something to make it a lot easier. With some effort it's probably even possible to host tournaments and all that, but do people still play Rayman M/Arena? I doubt it would be popular.

I still play Rayman Arena, I'm just waiting for online to be easily accesible for me via hamachi if possible.

I don't own Rayman Arena, but being able to compete with you fellows would be a great incentive for me to get it, I enjoy competing with Cairnie and Bzzit on Legends, and I know I'd love to go against some of you fellows for some friendly competition.

You would be my hero if you did that. Honestly if you have Paypal I'd gladly pay you some buck for this. I have tried several VPN's and the game is just incompatible with them, the new Hamachi version broke everything and the old HAmachi version isn't supported anymore.

This game was a part of my childhood really! I own rayman rush on the ps1 too but that cant be played online of course, while i still have some hope for this.

I'd gladly hear from anyone who knows more about playing this game online.

Honestly, I still play Rayman M from time to time. It is a game I never get bored of. I would love to play with other RPC members if the online was possible.

Rayman Rush could actually be played on ePSXe online and it is really easy. I played CO-OP games on ePSXe online with many people around the world.
Only thing needed is to configure online plugin for Emulator.

Really???

That's awesome news!!

The PS1 version was completely destroyed in reviews but I enjoyed it a lot, I also think it looks the most charming out of all the versions (yes I know the PS1 has shit graphics.. but they are very charming and Ubisoft Shanghai really pushed the PS1 to the limit!!) Rayman 2 on the PS1 has this special charm too it misses in other versions. But perhaps that's just my nostalgia kicking in...

---

Still the idea of Rayman Arena working online is awesome

I think that for a (half) port of Rayman M, Rayman Rush is not really badly made, in fact I enjoyed to play it despite of being really easy due to the practice I have from Rayman M. It is also nice to play with a Rayman fan for 1 hour in maximum from time to time. However, I can't recommend this game to non-Rayman fans.

Anyone wants to test Rayman Rush online with me tomorrow? I tested online with games such as Crash Bandicoot Carnival but not with Rayman Rush. However, in theory it should work. I remember also playing N64 emulator online. Smash Bros online is awesome :D

I'd play online with you if I didn't fucking have School tomorrow.... sorry man.

I remember me and Adsolution did attempt Smash Bros online, even though we DID get it, it lagged like a bitch.

Quick question about Rayman M on PC.

I'm trying to change my controller settings to joypad, but every time I try to map a button to a specific action, "B5" automatically comes up as the mapped button.
I'm using my PS3 controller, which is being emulated as an Xbox 360 controller. This hasn't posed a problem for me on any other game, so I don't think it's a problem with my controller. Has anyone else had an issue with this on their game?

Isn't this action "realign camera"? Because it happened to me too. And also, when i try to map LB on my Xbox controller as the camera left action, it gets mapped but it just realigns the camera and doesn't rotate the camera left. It's like the button is automatically refers to the camera realign. Is there a solution to solve this too?

Damn, I've never thought of playing Rayman M-Arena or Rush online!

Which is odd, because it was the first game that I ever bought...
I'll look into getting it connected, the more the better! (supposedly ;)

@sonicbrawler I fear nobody has got a solution for the problem since the programming done for the controller mapping seems to be really odd. I only remember to make it work once back in my Pentium III computer with a PS2 cable (no, not the Sony one dudes) gamepad. After, I nevermore managed to make a controller workable in Rayman M for PC.

Rayman M was one of my all time favourite games as a kid. I totally ruined my thumbs as a result.

Do any of you lot post your lap times on here? Because I've still got my file from back in the day where I was pretty pro, it'd be cool to see how I compare to others at my prime!

Older games do have some controller issues on modern PC's and moderncontrollers.
I tried Hugo 3D with 360 controller and there is not even option to change buttons. When you select controller as a device it is configured automatically and with 360 controller, controlls are really weird.

Rayman Arena still remains to be a game that I play with my older brother. I'm too good at that game though. Every time I play through it again, it's all too easy. XP That's why I have my older bro to rival me at it!

Still one of the most underrated Rayman games for me, way more underrated than Rayman 3. The only mode I didn't enjoy so much was 'lum spring', how they would randomly spawn in a SET location, rather than actually randomized, making it so it is a bit unbalanced whether it goes closer to you or your opponent, still, you can freeze your enemies, but that doesn't last for too long, and just becomes a freeze fest. Otherwise the other modes in battle make this up totally, so much chaos and fun.

I always thought (and still think) that Rayman M is one of the best spin-offs released for the franchise. One of my favourite things of it is how well it captured the Rayman 2 atmosphere and was brought to the game.
