Stuff like using glitches to get to certain higher areas isn't cheating either because everyone does it

That's true, so it's not what I'm talking about. Now using savestates on the other hand is probably questionable, which is why after practicing on the GC and PS2 versions, I'm going to take it in seriousness in the PC version about perfecting all the combos and tricks I've either been given by the top scorers or discovered myself and see exactly how far I can go. It might take me months though.

Yeah I wouldn't use savestates myself. There's a difference between pressing load game and using a savestate. Load game restarts the part of the level.

Another one I thought of but probably still wouldn't do, is backing up the save and then if I screw up the next part, revert to the last save. That's not as bad as using a savestate though.
