I was talking about the background and colours actually. I enjoy the style used for our community very much though.

The actual design is ok for me, unless the sysops and the other administrators will want to use a Rayman Origins theme. It's up to them since I'm a normal contributor only.

An Origins theme would be cool. I would dislike having the colours changed to something bright. I've gotten used to this design very much.

Picture City is widely regarded as the Hell of Rayman 1, it never was a walk in the park.

Even on gameboy and Sega genesis Picture city was surprisingly Hard Hard

I think it is the hardest world of the entire game, being Space Mama's Crater THE nightmare level.

Sega Genesis? You mean: Sega Saturn.

I agree completely, though it's this level which takes the cake:
God help me when I go here to get cages.

That's the level I classify it as the champion in the difficulty level.

And rightly so, they even put the fitting flood music in there instead of the typical Picture City music, it just makes it seem even more hellish.

That level is also home to one of the most inspired alterations made in the Saturn version.

I'm assuming you mean the background change, if so, I agree, it makes it a good buildup to the boss, and it looks quite stunning.

I think the background in the Saturn version is more cleverly done than in the other versions. It is a very interesting difference too.

Not all of the Saturn version’s background changes are good though; the ones in Bongo Hills are just jarring.

Can you remind me the background in question?

First level uses Allegro Presto BG, Fourth uses normal Bongo Hills bg instead of dark sky.

In the PlayStation version, the first level of Bongo Hills has this background:
This is the player’s first introduction to Band Land, and we get a real spectacle to look at: the rolling hills, the giant drums, cymbals and trombones, the piano keys stretching off into the distance. It’s one of the richest sights in the game, and it’s accompanied by vibrant music which suits it perfectly.
In the PlayStation version, the fourth level of Bongo Hills has this background:
Everything is in shadow. There’s no music, just ambient thunder. The skies are dark and starry, and Rayman is surrounded by clouds, giving a claustrophobic feel and the sense that the player is making progress and ascending.
The Saturn version switched these two backgrounds, and it makes absolutely no sense. Why would the level begin in clouds, then ascend into hills? The first level feels really underwhelming with the dull background, and the fourth one feels weirdly open without the claustrophobia. Making matters even more confusing is that they’ve kept the first level bright and the fourth level dark, which suits neither background. I have no idea what the Saturn team were thinking; I can only guess that they shuffled a few backgrounds about for the sake of it and got lucky a couple of times.

Urrrgh you're making me wish I could run Rayman on a fully working Saturn emulator stop it.

It is curious to know that it has been hard to emulate the console, there isn't a workable emulator yet.

What is up with Rayman for the DSi? The ground background from Band Land is dark and the sliding panels are black?
