I have never played a Mario game, so don't think I'm getting defensive.

There are a handful of great Mario games, but the vast majority are terrible.

I've only ever played the Mario Kart games and Mario Party 8, despite terrible reviews.
If it wasn't for Mario's sheer ugliness, I'd probably play more of his games!

Good mario games are: Super mario 64 (DS), Super mario Sunshine, Super mario Galaxy (2), New super mario bros. (wii), Mario kart (all), Mario party 8 (the rest is crap)

BIS is already out. I saw it at Gamestop the other day. And he also forgot the Paper Mario series.

Geez, not with Pikmin 2 New Play Control. It's been out in Europe for, what, half a year? And a release date hasn't even been set for the U.S. yet.

I like Mario, but only some few games do have quality such as the classic SMB, the SMW, Paper Mario series, the portable RPG series, the MK games and the SM64/DS... Now the others I don't like pretty much. I still think that Rayman is very better than Mario.

I think a lot of Mario's crap is in the old days, believe it or not.
Super Mario Bros 2, Mario Party series, that rare Sega Genesis Mario game (I think it's called Super Mario World), CD-i games, Educational games like Mario is Missing and Mario Teaches Typing, Mario & Sonic series, Yoshi puzzle games like Yoshi and Yoshi's Cookie, Super Princess Peach, and Mario Clash.

There are over 200 Mario games. It'd be interesting to find their average score and compare it to that of Rayman...

Not for nothin', but there ARE a few bad Rayman games too. And I'm not talking about the underrated ones like Rayman 1 and Rayman Arena. I mean games like Rayman Bowling/Golf, Rayman Raving Rabbids DS (Where's the plot?), Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 and TV Party for DS, and the console versions for that matter. And then there's Rayman 2 Forever (the game we should be talking about), bad remakes like Rayman DS and Rayman Collector's Edition, games that should have been 3D platformers instead of what they were like Rayman Raving Rabbids and Rayman Tenth Anniversary (Ten years, and they release two already-made games on one catridge. Yaaay.), and Rayman Rush. Most of the important games are incredible, luckily, like Rayman 1, Rayman 2, Rayman 3, the handheld series sans R2F and RRR Advance, Rayman Arena/M, even the first Rabbids game was mildly enjoyable.

It would be much more enjoyable without the knowledge that they disposed of an epic platformer for the sake of it.

I forgot to mention the N64 Mario Parties.
