I don't know. I've been playing Rayman all my childhood though.

Didn't they even tell you that how old they are? Or then why don't you know that?

Are they in their 30's, 40's, 50's, or something around one of those decades? It just seems kind of peculiar that Rayman only came out seventeen years ago, yet somehow they played them, which would mean this "passing on" isn't as sacred as it sounds, since they would be adult gamers. Also, considering that you've been playing it so young you can't remember, they must have passed it on to you awful fast.

40s I think. My dad just played Command and Conquer and let me play the PS1. I played Rayman the most out of the games I have for PS1.

A friend of mine brought their copy of Rayman M around to my house and, as impressionable as an 8-year old can be, I pretty much fell in love with the game, despite the fact I was undeniably terrible. But then I decided to train, and work harder at the game, and now I'd say I'm a pro at the game. Only just last year did I manage to get to Speed Stress, the final level in the game. I still haven't beat the game yet, but it's amazing how a game can have such a positive effect on a child that they end up playing it seven years and counting after they first picked it up. The immense joy that I got from playing that game made me buy Rayman Revolution, Rayman 3, Rayman Rush AND the original Rayman on sight, and I enjoyed every one of them too (despite being even worse at Rayman than I was at M ).
I actually liked the first two Raving Rabbids games (despite the hate directed towards them), and parts of TV Party, but M, Hoodlum Havoc and Revolution all kept me a strong fan up until the recent release of Origins, which is now up there with Hoodlum Havoc and M as one of my 25 best games of all time.
Looking forward to the real Rayman 4 possibly coming soon! I can't wait!

I have a lot of time to play games, tbh. Over 100 games previously owned on the PS2 alone, nearly 80 on PC, almost 20 on the PS3 now, and probably about 25 on Wii. God knows how many DS and GBA games... Now that I think about it, perhaps I should get out some more.

well, it all started in my childhood... (yep, here we go, a corny flashback story for you all! Let there be groans and face palms! )

As a very young girl, my evil stepmother owned Rayman for the PSX, and would never let me play (as usual), but my brother got the chance, so I quietly observed his actions when he got the chance to get frustrated at the hard levels and curse at the screen from the corner. I grew to love what I saw from that game.. Later on, I overheard her plans to sell all the games to give herself some self-profit, so I did the only thing that a child who hated their abusive adult/s did; steal away the games my brother owned and his PS2 to the safety of my biological mother's home. At last, I was able to play Rayman (when my bro wasn't being crabby ) on the weekdays to shirk my schoolwork. I still have the disk and the PS2, even after all this time... It now sits next to my Wii, and I play it from time to time when I'm not crackin' skulls in Rayman Origins!

Rayman, along with Pokemon, was the only things that kept my sanity in check when enduring child abuse for the first 18 years of my life, so I owe those series so much...

Well, my parent bought "Amazing Learning Games with Rayman"(a.k.a. Rayman Junior) as well as Rayman Gold. And the rest is history...

More like a nightmare... If only you knew half the crap I've been through! From the time of my birth to about.. I wanna say about 3 1/2 years ago were pure chaos.. those years from that point to a month ago were not as bad since I found my husband-to-be on Deviantart. He's made my life so much better, even after the turmoil going on around me still. Since last month, however, i have been living in peace due to escaping my mortal enemy via moving from California to North Carolina. Needless to say the story of my life would leave some shocked and others interested. I myself am nothing unusual, and I'm sure I'm just a statistic of anyone else who had abusive adults around all their life.
Now then! Time for me to stop typing here and clogging the arteries of this thread with some of my back story/bio! ^^; No need to invoke the wrath of the admins, ya know?

one day i visited a friends house and asked if i could play a funny game i was handed rayman 2 i was hooked instanly

When i was about 7 i was handed Rayman 2 for PC from my uncle and as soon as the title screen popped up.... angelic chimes and a heavenly beam appeared from Polokus himself

Yes, I didn't discover the magic of Rayman until 2010 in which it was when I was digging through my aunts' old PC games and I stumbled across one of those cheap copies of Rayman 1 made by The Learning Company that was part of the "Super Saver" series (offering hit PC titles for a very low price!) so I put it in the computer's disc drive then as soon as I saw the first stage, WOW! this is really good, but I hate playing PC games without a game pad so I soon bought it for PS1 off Half.com for a reasonable price. But still didn't really become a fan until several months later when I bought Rayman 2 on N64, then I was hooked and I wanted to play every Rayman game so R3:Hoodlum Havoc soon followed along with now RO plus many others. And now I'm a new member of The Rayman Pirate Community and are patiently waiting the release of Rayman Legends!

Back in the early 2000's my parents got me Rayman 2 for the PC. I must of played the game 100's of times.. I truly loved it. A couple years later I got to play Rayman 3, and shortly after that Rayman 1. It's now my favorite series of video games of all time.

2000. The year I was born. I always watched my 20 year old sister play Rayman 1 when she was 8 years old

I don't remember. I got it in 1996, and played up until the Cave of Skops and beat Mr. Skops, but I couldn't understand why I couldn't get further. Eventually, I lost interest and played other games.

Years later Rayman 2 was released and I HAD to have it. Got it for christmas, beat it and loved it, but I couldn't understand who all these new characters were, and how/why Rayman knew them. I figured I'd understand if I beat Rayman One and assumed that characters like Globox and Ly show up near the end of the first game, so I asked my mom to buy me Rayman 1 again. She did, but its been years since I played it; I had to go through the whole game again. I got all the electoons and made it up to Mr. Dark, and then I beat the game. I was glad to have ended it, but eventually the confusion of how Rayman knew the people from Rayman 2 overshadowed my sense of accomplishment.
