sfn: I do remember the talk about the snowboarding part years ago. I think quite a few players used the snowboarding trick to get enough points and only then went for the green gem. It must be hell to spend time on this trick and then fail in the jump for the green gem. I think I actually do prefer the 11.500 points combo. :)

Mostwanted: If you play on consol, like PS2, then you have the Lums glitch working for you. And in that case it is possible to reach 75.500 points after part 2, which I recommend, even if you “only” got 23.000 points after part 1. It is damn hard to get 52.500 points in part 2, but the Lums glitch can make it happen. Be prepared to play for weeks…
If you play on pc, I’m not really sure. I remember Jona played on pc and he was able to combo both the Heckler and the Matuvu for 2.500 points each in part 2 room 1. It’s something I have never been able to do, but it should be different to play this on pc. If you can do that, then I’m sure you will have enough points to go for the maximum score.

Hunchman: That is indeed inspired playing and a great result :!:

At last, I've finished the Desert with a score of 109769 points, which is the maximum for the PC version!!! :teuf: It took me some time, but I found it all much easier than the hoodlum combo in the Land. Now, I'm starting to wonder which level will be next...
Not that i played it already for a high score, but i would say the best level to play after TDOTK is TLS. You haven't reached the maximum score there if i am correct

@MandM: I know, that I have to restart about million times :) . Well, thank you for your tips. I'm playin' on PC and I will try to manage the Heckler Combo including the matuvu for also 2.500 Combo Points.
@Josh: In my opinion, LS is the most stupid level in all. I'm only able to reach every time 41.000, also when I do the Shoe-Combo really good. :o

@MandM: I was lucky that I managed to combo the green gem the first time I used the Snowboard trick for 100000. If you just go for 100000 and don't care about the green gem, it might be the least stressful method to get half a decent score after part 2 (like 70000) and then use the Snowboard trick to get the missing points. If you care about the green gem, it would be hell to use the Snowboard trick for hours and then fail on the gem again and again. I think nobody has the patience to even try this.

Thank you guys! Anyway, it would never have happened without MandM's solution and everyone's advice :)

My score there is 39899, and I'm not sure I feel like spending weeks to get 3000 points, while there are many other levels where I could get a lot more...
mostwanted82 wrote:Well, when you say me your points, maybe I could give you any tips.
Fine then, here we go:
FC: 27808
CF: 71816

BM: 70269
LLD: 97110
DK: 109769
LS: 39899
SBC: 52651
HH: 66357
TL: 74038

The levels in red are those that I haven't played since 2003. I'd like to play the Land, but I remember how hard the hoodlum combo was :?

TSBTC is the worst level for me by a merry mile. I played it earlier this year and it was hell, and despite the agonising suffering I went through I only got 100314 points - I lost 11000 or so. When I do play again (which can't be too far off now) I'm going to have to tackle part 1 and somehow get the two difficult combos to work. Last time I only got 15000 here. I'll have to get everything right in part 2, everything. Once this is done I may go for the excruciating combo you are both talking about, but I'm not looking forward to it.

@ Hunchman: Well done! Are you going to play TLOTLD next?

Well, since 2003? What a long time ago :)
Ok, because of this all are developable, you have a very good scores in DOTK and BOM ( Why? I can't understand  )
My tip is to especially play CF, HH or SBTC. Of course the Hoodlum-Combo in Land is hard, too but there you can get many points more, too
These levels I would play, but when you want to play an other level, it's okay, too.

Well, according to what I've read lately, the warehouse combo in the Hoodlum Headquarters is really hard, and every part of the Summit is incredibly difficult. I might play Clearleaf Forest instead, but it will be no use if it's actually harder than the Land.

Oh, don't bother with Clearleaf Forest. Firstly there's part 2 which is loathsome because of that wretched piggybank glitch, and then there's part 4 with Master Kaag, whereby Rayman needs to combo all of the Slapdashes and Hoodmongers together in one giant combo! This has to be done without any of these Hoodmongers being hit and also without Rayman himself being hit.

Mind you, it looks like it's the only alternative to TSBTC for me. I promised myself ages ago I'd play it after TFC.

Well, then good luck yet, but how many points do you want to reach?

sfn: I surely understand you will save SBTC for last. It’s difficult at every level. As for the green gem combo, I believe DTUCC found a place where you can flip a few times in order to continue the combo after the long jump. That way one can avoid the launching glitch on the edge.

Mostwanted: I wonder, isn’t it easier after all to go for the green gem for 6.000 points in part 1? I believe both DTUCC and Xenon made videos involving the Grim Keeper, the Hoodblaster, the Lums, the Matuvu and finally the green gem for 6.000 in combo?

Hunchman: LOTLD is a magic level and it’s great fun to play. When I made the walkthrough I had played this level for years and the Hoodlum Combo is a “third generation” combo, which means I have improved and improved this part over the years. It is not necessary to do this combo in order to reach the maximum score. You can break it up and play it in a different way. One suggestion could be:

1. Get the Matuvu as on the video.
2. Renew the Vortex and get everything in the second room in combo, except maybe the gems on the ledge where the Plum Tree is located.
3. Go to the room with the Hoodlums. Get as many in combo as possible around the fountain.
4. If the combo is broken, go on anyway and finish the combo with the Hoodblasters in the open space when you exit the hallway.

In any case, I would recommend that you have 37.000 – 38.000 points after part 1.

Yeah, but the 6000-Combo that's another story. I tried it a lot of times this day and I have to decide which of these both combos have more investment.

That green gem combo in HH part 1 isn't as hard as people make out in my opinion. I found it an easier method than the alternative techniques MandM and DTUCC suggested. If I can do it, you should be able to as well :)

Ok, why not? Also playin' HH the last times was long, but funny.

But I'd got a question to TSBTC:
Well, then good luck yet, but how many points do you want to reach?

EDIT: Well, I only missing every time on a few nanoseconds. I'm sure that I today can finish Part 1. :D

Yeah, it's quite easy actually, you just need to practice a bit, and it's worth it!

I don't get it. I finished part 5 with a score higher than that of the solution (despite being 800 down before part 4) and now I can't get 8000 points in the Funkyboardz. I need some help!

That sounds strange. Did you make some new combos in part 4? It is possible that the walkthrough contains some miscalculations. As for the Teensie Highway part, I can’t remember exactly how many points you can get, but it’s not 8.000. I believe it’s more like 7500+. What’s your score before part 6?

I got about 7900 points the last time I played and I only made a little mistake in the end, so the maximum should be not more than 8050-8100. If you manage to get 7700-7800, you already have a decent score. Just make sure you get everything possible in one combo. It shouldn't be a problem.

It's really 8.100 points? My memory fails me horribly. Do you have a clever way of playing, or is it straight forward to get this score?

Well, it's likely that there are some miscalculations as I don't recall composing any new combos. I never really understood the Tribelle combo though - I simply started with the three gems on the upper level, finished off the Crab, took the gems in the cave, took the gems in the wall, took gems on the platform, shot the Meadowscrew and got the Tribelle. After rechecking the solution I think this is the same combo.
And about the Funkyboardz, I find it impossible to get more than 7500 points. :( As of yet I haven't been able to get the green gem for 3000 combo points, but in an otherwise perfect game I only got 6000 points tops. I don't know where I am losing the points though.
