Fuck, Rayman, that's a beautiful polar bear covered in snow! You sure are creative.

It is indeed the biggest sprite I've seen.

That's a real shame about the computer XP

But on a happier note, the game seems to have great sprite art!

The new hard-drive is here- so hopefully we'll be able to recover all the old data. Wish us luck ;)! If the operation is a success, which it should be - video editing will be able to continue :)

Yeah, I'm just going to stop giving technical updates on this thread, I seem to jinx the project every-time I do ;). Let's just say getting the video--editing computer back up is going to take a little while...

BUMP

I have returned, and this time with actual video footage! It's taken me a long time to get together the correct software to get this working, from capturing from Windows 98 to editing subtitles on Windows 7, but it seems like I've found a winning combination. Now that I'm not currently at university, getting back to this project will be much easier.
This video just covers the intro and misc menu animations, but I've already edited the second part, which I'll upload later. It's good to be back!

This game is so extreme Windows 95 that it refuses to run on anything above Windows 98. That gave me many a headache trying to work out how to get the game to run, let alone get footage for it for Youtube :confus:

Lol, even only the thumbnail of the game video reminds me of the old apps of that old Win95 computer I grew-up with, it is a pity my father owned no games for it other than a Duke Nukem 3d demo back then, I would have like to play Rayman 1 and Doom on it...
But... how the heck are you recording on a Win98 computer anyway ?

I can't remember the name of the program now, since It's actually been a few years since I recorded raw footage (something I will now be doing alot now that the playthrough's started), but someone has made screen capture software for Windows 98 akin to Hypercam. Encoding the footage takes a very long time and everytime I want to transfer the avis onto Windows 7 I have to remove the hard drive and plug into a newer machine. The whole process can be pretty tedious, but the results are worth it!

Nice to see that the city shown in the video, is the same like the one in the animated TV series. Or based of it.
It was fun watching the video. :D

My current plan is to upload a new part once or twice a week instead of daily as I used to so that I don't keep running dry on content and needing to go on hiatus. If I already have a few subtitled videos ready and can access the 98 machine once every few weeks, it should be easier to keep it going.

It becomes clearer on another screen that I'll present later that this is very much Aeropolis. Don't expect to see Lacmac or the others though ;)

Hum hum !
I'm trying to find a way that would prevent you from unplugging repeatedly a HDD into different computers here.

The hard drive swapping process is currently the easiest way to transfer the video files, as USB Pens that support Windows 98 are very hard to come by these days, and having to burn the files to a CD or DVD every time I want to edit them seems a bit of a waste. Moving the hard drive each time is not a difficult process, although it means that it is easier to record as much footage as you can in one batch, so it's only moved when it is necessary to (so the videos are wiped when it gets full).

I was talking about a LiveUsb, young padawan.
Which is completely independent of your OS, which is why I asked your specs.
