I was waiting for a quote like this.
I'm impressed by the new art style. It's still Origins but this time around the characters are much more alive. I may even end up liking this new game.

I'm quite interested to know what the storyline is. I really really hope this new game has a better storyline than the last. I am worried this game might focus too much on the "Beat your high score, race your friends and collect the most shiny things" deal.

If a game like this is really coming out IT MUST BE better than RO, not as good but better, because if we count what the series had needed the most that is a 3D game, the 2D loses its power, even a good one, so they will have to pay for that, by making a 2D game which also can be loved by 3D fans. Then Uglette, the Babies and Carmen MUST be in the game. Then there needs to be a story, that is the same level as Rayman 2 and Rayman 3. And the game must get a PC version the same time with the console versions, not five months later.
IF THAT DIAREA GAME DOESNT HAVE AT LEAST THOSE THINGS, IM NOT GONNA BUY IT!!! AND I DEFINITELY WILL NOT WAIT HALF A YEAR FOR A PC VERSION!!!
But could this still be fake? I so hope it is.
Why are you being so sour?

Well, this looks a bit better...
I can see the Rayman 2 atmopshere in some images...
But I still have the feeling that this ain't gonna be that great. And, well, the feeling that comes from some images are bad, but I can't deduce what exactly...

I'm positive already,although,could someone explain me where's the R2 style? I mean,I like those screenshoots,I just don't see that style.But I think I like this,although Globox looked weird.

It's not exactly the style, but the atmosphere. It's darker like R2's.
And I will say this again, I really like the shading used on the characters. It gives much more of a 3D look and brings depth to the characters. They also match with the environments better, while in RO1 they felt a bit flat like paper. I like where this is going right now. And closer up, the dragon actually looks pretty neat.

Someone sure has ants in his Mammothpants, calm the FUCK down.

I really don't care if Uglette, Carmen, or more of your favourite characters show up in this game. Believe it or not, they aren't what made Rayman 2 as a whole such a fantastic game. They were memorable because we are Rayman fans. Any other non-fan or casual broadrange gamer who enjoyed Rayman 2 would probably vaguely if even remember who those two characters were. Why? They were only established once each throughout the story and are then never seen again until it shows the crowd of people in the ending sequence. Were either of them in Rayman 3? No. Did that lessen the game's quality? No.
Mammothphant 2 wrote:Then there needs to be a story, that is the same level as Rayman 2 and Rayman 3.
Yeah... sorry to break it to you bud, but neither of those games' stories I would phrase in such a way as "on the same level as." They had well-established and solid stories, definitely, but I would hardly claim that they had any sort of intricate merit to make them worth being compared to. All we really need is something that holds up; even Rayman 1's story held up - and it was hardly any more complex than your standard Mario sidescroller at that time - because it gave you the plot, you rectified the means of Mister Dark's MK-Ultra'd minions, and then defeated Monsieur D himself. If it could simply not do what Origins did (give you an amusing yet very confusing and uninformative intro, launch you into a journey without even knowing
why you're on this journey, and then forcing you end up just assuming that the character you're controlling knows more about what the hell is happening than you do), then it should work just fine.

I'm just hoping for a storyline that makes sense. I mean, I've never actually played Rayman Origins, but surely I'm not the only one who can't quite wrap their mind around what exactly is going on there.

It's alright, Sergiomonty is the one chosen to draw the sword from the stone; he can wrap his head around it just fine. None of us peasants or mere soldiers and noblemen can fathom Origins' stupendous presentation, created only for the whitest of knights.

This is looking much better already. I really like the art style, but that was already the case. The only thing that still worries me is whether they'll succeed in making something original out of the most stereotypical settings, namely the Greece-inspired level (that Greek-style font used on the banner in one of the first screenshots is horribly cliché and at the opposite of the oneiric Arcadian landscape you'd expect, and the latest screenshot still somehow lacks fantasy) and the castle level (given the amount of books, movies and games that have featured castles with dragons and ghosts, creating a unique atmosphere isn't going to be a piece of cake).

At least the new pictures are already another story. I'll still want to see more images and preferencially with better resolution but at least for now they look a little better for me. They still look a bit clicché for me, just like Hunch said above.

All we have is screenshots from low-quality videos, so we'll probably have to wait for an official announcement before we get high-definition images. In any case, it is obvious that the game will be rendered in 1080p (except for the Wii and the handheld consoles).

Wii? I'm sceptical about a release in Wii. Something tells me it will be a Wii U launch title. It's not impossible however.

This looks quite good to me now. Especially the autumn level looks interesting to me.
I guess nobody got the chance to save the videos?
I agree that some of the environments are a bit uncreative and don't have the Rayman magical element to them, but none of the screenshots so far lack atmosphere as much as the environments in Rayman Origins (IMO). This is good. I am pleased.

I'd love that movie sequences return.About the environments, well,at least some of them are environments Rayman had never visited before.Rayman had never been in a middle-age town,in Greece or in a castle. The middle-age one remembered me of Crash Bandicoot the Warth of Corctex. And me likes

Much better. I actually made up my mind and think this is going to be pretty good. I like the new style of the heroes, especially Grand Minimus.

Why should i calm down? HAVE BEEN WAITING ALMOST 10 YEARS FOR A NEW 3D PLATFORMER/ACTION ADVENTURE RAYMAN GAME!
IM STAYING IN WHAT I SAID. If the new 2D game doesnt fill at least the criterions i listed, im not buying it. N-O-T B-U-Y-I-N-G!
They cant ruin Rayman series ANOTHER time like they did in 06, by making 2D madness games without spirit (those pictures reminded me Rabbids Travel in Time too).
RO was released for PC almost half a year after the console ones, but i believe that they dont let it happen again (cant be that dumb), because they know now how angry Mammothphant will be if they do.
