Re: Rayman Origins
The good thing is, if Origins is a commercial success, as it looks like it may be, there's a good chance Ubi will consider working on Rayman 4.
Re: Rayman Origins
We also would like to see a new 3D Rayman game too.

Re: Rayman Origins
But why would a red Lum look like that, and why would a red Lum be a collectable? I mean, they already said before releasing those pictures that yellow Lums will be the currency. No, this is probably a new thing (or an old thing? I'm so confusedspiraldoor wrote:I’m pretty sure that’s just a redesigned Red Lum.

Actually, I think you are spot on. Neither of the presenters seemed genuinely interested in Rayman, their enthusiasm was so fake it was unbelievable. If I had the honour of sitting next to Ancel, I'd buy him a pint! He's such a talented, down-to-Earth guy.iambored2006 wrote:Yes, but she's also a bimbo. I hate it when people do that, taking pretty and stupid women and put them in these jobs with skimpy clothes on and giving them lines to read from. If there's anything feminists should fight against, it's this. It's not that I care about them being beautiful and all, but they're just ruining the interview which should be with people who actually know who Rayman is. Same goes to the male interviewer.Paradigm wrote:Thanks for the link. That female presenter is a babe!

I'd like to know where the Tings have gone. They were in the first game and then they disappeared. Were they just blue lums?iambored2006 wrote:But why would a red Lum look like that, and why would a red Lum be a collectable? Here's another thought. In one of the press clips, there is a video from E3 where somebody is playing the demo and there's a screen asking them to select a world (there are four options). When they select 'Forest', it takes them to the demo of the Forest level, but then when they reach the check point (the photographer) the relatively short level ends.
I think that these are merely promotional demo levels which have been knocked up especially for E3, rather than full levels from the finished game, so I also think that the photographer will be the check point in the final game, then we'll get the "!" exit signs to end each level.
In another press snippet, I heard mention of Origins having a 'map' like the first game, so would imagine that you get taken to this once you've completed a set of levels (the same as the first game).

Re: Rayman Origins
Thanks. Sorry about all that, I can get irritatingly political sometimes. About the down-to-earth thing, I wouldn't be so quick to say that. If he can create a game like R1, he's not down to earth. He's a funny man, and I don't think he fits in all that crowd of interviewers and fame and such. It's so funny that every time someone asks him a question, he says "Yes, exactly. In fact, ... "Paradigm wrote:Actually, I think you are spot on. Neither of the presenters seemed genuinely interested in Rayman, their enthusiasm was so fake it was unbelievable. You have to listen very carefully to here that he IS answering the question, but I don't think that really matters to them.
About the voices of the characters, I wish they would return to Raymanian from R2. Every time I see Rayman, I can't imagine him speaking anything else.

We must always have in mind during the E3s that content might change up until the final version gets released.Paradigm wrote: Here's another thought. Yes, I noticed that even the person who got all the cages in the forest level got only 3. I guess they took some levels, cut them in half and put them in the booth.Paradigm wrote:Here's another thought. Possible if levels are long indeed. People should be able to end one level during a stand, and stand longer than 20 minutes would cause communism-like queues.iambored2006 wrote:Yes, I noticed that even the person who got all the cages in the forest level got only 3. Re: Rayman Origins
Well, who cares? She’s just an interviewer. All she has to do is look good and ask the questions that have been prepared for her. Putting a more intelligent or less attractive woman in the interviewer’s seat would make no difference. I found her voice grating but apart from that I think she’s fine.iambored2006 wrote:Yes, but she's also a bimbo. Have you noticed that collecting a Lum Prince causes all nearby Yellow Lums to turn red? I doubt the distinction between the two is as sharp as it was previously.iambored2006 wrote:But why would a red Lum look like that, and why would a red Lum be a collectable? Check out the Game Boy Color version; it says that Tings are tiny fairies inside little glassy spheres.Paradigm wrote:I'd like to know where the Tings have gone. They were in the first game and then they disappeared. Were they just blue lums?
I don’t think so. It’s clear that the developers have gone to the trouble of creating a system in which the players are graded by their Lum count at the end of each level and positioned accordingly; if the photobards are merely checkpoints, this system would have to be scrapped. I doubt they added the game’s competitive element specifically for the E3 demos with the intention of removing it later.Paradigm wrote:I think that these are merely promotional demo levels which have been knocked up especially for E3, rather than full levels from the finished game, so I also think that the photographer will be the check point in the final game, then we'll get the "!" exit signs to end each level.
Do you have a link? The footage we’ve seen so far seems to indicate a Rainbow Creek-like hub with free movement.Paradigm wrote:In another press snippet, I heard mention of Origins having a 'map' like the first game, so would imagine that you get taken to this once you've completed a set of levels (the same as the first game).

Re: Rayman Origins
Yes, but that doesn't explain what those red things are. If the yellow Lums turn into red ones that look almost the same, and both of them don't look like those things, then we got a problem. Besides, videos show that the Lum counter is below the character's life bar. It wouldn't make sense to make a counter in the middle, since that ruins the competition. This may be a special level with these things to collect.spiraldoor wrote:Have you noticed that collecting a Lum Prince causes all nearby Yellow Lums to turn red? These things are seen floating around in that picture, and notice that the counter says '250' so maybe one collected equals 10 or 50 in the counter.
What footage? All I see in the videos is the level selection menu, which was obviously made for E3.spiraldoor wrote:Do you have a link? Re: Rayman Origins
It's at the beginning of the gameplay demonstration. With Tetris, Infernal Kitchen, the rolling stone (
) etc.

Re: Rayman Origins
What does it matter? They’re just red collectible items. There’s no use in angsting over whether they’re Lums or some other pickups at this point.iambored2006 wrote:Yes, but that doesn't explain what those red things are. Watch the on-stage gameplay demonstration.iambored2006 wrote:What footage? All I see in the videos is the level selection menu, which was obviously made for E3.spiraldoor wrote:Do you have a link? Also, I just noticed that the latest trailer shows a Baby Dragon Chef turning into Electoons when he’s killed, just like Rayman in the original. It’s packed with little details like this; I notice something new each time I watch it.
Re: Rayman Origins
Apparently the official Facebook page says that the E3 screenshot that gets more "Likes" will be made into an official wallpaper. (Checked this out while visiting the official website) I haven't Facebook but I believe there are members here who have.

This might be the revival we were looking forward to.

Too bad, I've terminated my account in facebook, but oh well. btw, the glute picture is an awesome wallpaper.
I noticed something very interesting- In the showcase, in the part with the portal at the beginning, the mountain from the concept art can be seen in the distance.

I'm going to get it as soon as I can when it comes out, even if sets me back 40 smackers; usually I wait until games drop but they can have my extra money!!

I like this one

But don't worry, I'm not voting on it. Don't have an account
