How would you defend yourself against one? With a knife or a gun? I'd use my fists and hide instead. Or maybe even get into learning self defense techniques like Judo, which I already have. There is no need to get blood on your hands, there are others ways.

You don't have to kill though. A gun can be used to injure someone. There are people who does this all over the world just to let you know, it happens over here too.

And non-fatal alternatives clearly don't exist, am I right? Stun guns, hah, how useless. They clearly don't harmlessly incapacitate people, and there's no way that they aren't used for killing. Am I right again?

Wow, you got a shitty sense to see when someone is using sarcasm. Stun guns, also known as tasers, are used by the police against criminals pretty much everywhere as far as I know and are pretty effective because they make the victim unable to move, paralyzing them momentarily due to the electroshock.

I have never been more sick reading someone's posts here. Killing anyone is never an answer. If you kill someone, no matter if he is criminal or not, you yourself are inhuman and just like them. Like other people said, there are alternatives without killing that are much better. If you think killing is ok, then you really have problem.

I wouldn't state that as a fact since there are arguable exceptions, but for the most part I concur. I see execution as a means of taking the easy way out of a problem, at the grave expense of human life. Sure, detaining criminals and providing them with therapy consumes resources, but unless it's with the criminal's consent, then it's simply immoral. The amount America is in dept from the Iraq war is close to that of the entire world's population's money combined; keeping a few thousand criminals in therapy doesn't sound so hard now, does it?

I think... if someone starts taking life in mass, he/she needs to be shot down. but the line of death is a blurry one indeed.

You mean a genocide or a serial killer? Yeah there I can understand why and can accept it.

Even then I can't agree, unless it's in self-defense. After all, serial killers can sometimes have the most adventurous minds of us all; if they were completely cured of their tendencies, they could become some very interesting people.
