Well, somebody did at any rate because this rule exists:PluMGMK wrote: Wed May 07, 2025 11:18 am OK, well then I'm clueless – why did we make that the default version anyway![]()
And if i went back further, even the older ruleset has some rule like this!Xenon wrote: Mon Jul 21, 2008 11:03 am ............................. When referring to games with various versions, be sure to note which version you're referring to, otherwise by default, Rayman 1 will refer to its PS1 version, Rayman 2 will refer to its Dreamcast version, and Rayman 3 will refer to its PC version.
(I don't feel like viewing thousands of posts for the original, so I'll just use this snippet here...)
Not sure who decided to use these specific versions as defaults, maybe because at the time they were labelled as the supposed "definitve versions?" I dunno.Master wrote: Sun Apr 13, 2014 1:08 am ............................. Refer to the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2 and the PC version of Rayman 3 when asking questions which vary upon versions
...
I suppose it would be better to remove that last part and force people to identify which game they're talking about. I have to admit that I was being a little sneaky utilizing this rule... heh.
Bonus Question 2
Clue #1: This level comes from a spinoff game.
Clue #2: The level appears past the halfway point of the game.
Clue #3: Only 1 type of enemy can be found in this level.
Clue #4: (700 Tings): This level requires Rayman to utilize a power similar to the Accumulation items from Rayman Revolution.
Edit: Oops, I'm on a new page. Need to add the current question here...
Edit2:The Jonster wrote: Tue May 06, 2025 6:55 am Question 31: Here is a track from Rayman 2. Your job is to tell me all the locations where either section of this track can play. Be specific (as in, location, and what parts/phases of the location) when giving your answer!
To answer your question, our of the Rabbids games, I say only Rabbids 1, Rabbids 2, and TV Party count as spin-offs. Anything from Rabbids Go Home onwards is entirely separated from the Rayman series as a whole.EdgeRabbit wrote: Tue May 06, 2025 10:09 pm Am I allowed to ask a question? Do rabbids count as spin off in this case?

Hey, I'm sure I implicitly (or maybe even explicitly) agreed to that back when I owned this thread for a while so I can't really complain
I don't think I realized how many differences there are!

You know, I can only think of one person off the top of my head who has played through the Dreamcast version before. Too bad he's not as active lately, but if he showed up it would be amazing if he got this question correctly, given the track. But otherwise I'm tempted to make an exception...just cuz I feel generous lately.PluMGMK wrote: Wed May 07, 2025 2:38 pm Hey, I'm sure I implicitly (or maybe even explicitly) agreed to that back when I owned this thread for a while so I can't really complainI don't think I realized how many differences there are!

TBH, Plum deserves the point, because he answered this question the same way the previous time you asked it.

Well nobody knew the exact answer then either so I thought I'd give it another shot. Ah well so be it then, I'll give the point anyway since the answer is technically correct in the PC version.

Re: TTQ - Season 143 - The Jonster
These are all bonus levels, unlockable by collecting a certain number of lums, cages or Murfy stamps. Their completion is not mandatory to get to the end of the game. I also believe none of them contains any Teensy cages.

Yes that is correct! They are in fact, all bonus levels that need to be unlocked by collecting a certain amount of lums/Teensy cages/Murfy stamps. Could this be the final question??? Btw, the next clue for this bonus so anyone can answer that again.

Re: TTQ - Season 143 - The Jonster
Ha now this is interesting, I'm not sure if there is an "official" answer to this, it feels like there might be some subjectivity on this, but I'll give my thoughts.
Water. Probably the most straightforward, Axel and The Sanctuary of Water and Ice.
Fire. Now I personally think it's the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire, but I think Foutch probably fits the elemental vibe a lot better given he actually goes on the offense shooting literal fire at you.
Earth, The Sanctuary of Rock and Lava. While it has some overlap with the FIre thematic, the location in general feels a lot more...Earthy. If that makes sense? The structures in Rock and Lava, while constructed, feel more organic and natural, compared to the giant carved stone aesthetic in Stone and Fire. Bosswise though? Umber. He's made purely of Stone and takes a more passive approach in his "battle," which I think befits the more Earthlike ideal.
Air. Grolem 13, Iron Mountains/Sanctuary of Air. Again, you fight him in the clouds with clouds. And the Iron Mountains is pretty high up in the...air. Kinda feels like it fits the motif best.

Main question: I’m 95% sure Master got it right. (The Stone/Fire and Rock/Lava thing is more subjective, like he said)
Bonus question: Den of Rocky? (Wild guess, because I haven’t went past the halfway point yet in Rayman 3 GBA)

Yeah I'll be interested to see what the correct answer is to this one
And on that topic, I forgot to ask, what was the expected answer for the playing of "Pirate Machinery 1?" I was racking my brain trying to remember where else it could have played in the Dreamcast version but my mind was coming up blank, I couldn't remember it showing up in any of the extra minigames, for instance.

Re: TTQ - Season 143 - The Jonster
Master's answer is what I believe to be correct. I'm actually ok with air being blank tbh, since there is no sanctuary based on air and the only instance of a sanctuary boss corresponding to this element is the Grolem 13 in Revolution. So barring that part, the answer is still good enough. Although I realise I might have been a little too hasty before properly checking more sources for this question (which I was inspired by from certain conversations I had read about the temples in the Rayman 2 thread, such as this one). Like you guys have said, the Fire/Lava and Stone/Rock sanctuaries are subjective. Forgive me for being a little too impulsive there.
RayGamer's bonus answer is still wrong, though considering that someone is close to 10 points, I'm going to give another clue.

The two places that Plum was missing in his answer was The Sanctuary of Rock and Lava and Beneath the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava. Most other versions, have just the one purple Henchman800 sleeping in front of the entrance. The Dreamcast version adds more Henchmen800 to both levels, which is weird since Beneath the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava had none to begin with. As if that wasn't bizarre enough, all the Robo-Pirates on the inside use the same encounter theme the first Robo-Pirate at the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire uses, which is Pirate Machinery. So if you ever play this version, don't be caught off guard when you suddenly hear different music that sounds very outlandish compared to the environment.Master wrote: Thu May 08, 2025 11:10 pm Yeah I'll be interested to see what the correct answer is to this one

Re: TTQ - Season 143 - The Jonster
Ah yes, they effed that up then… It makes no sense to have henchmen Beneath the Sanctuary (although I guess by that logic there shouldn't be any cages either?
). Suddenly Dreamcast doesn't feel so definitive

Re: TTQ - Season 143 - The Jonster
If we went with that, then the cage inside the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire is also confusing, given how there were no Robo-PIrates inside the other 2 sanctuaries themselves. More untold mysteries....
