+ It's a Friday, there are a few project I need to get done when I'm at home though. Including some RayWiki related fixes for the work-in-progress mobile theme.

+/- Which reminds me, sister's dog came out of surgery alright. Except she's in a green cast this time and has to rest the next 2 weeks.
- Coughing is getting slightly less annoying, but is still very prevalent.
+ Set up the Windows 7 VMs, and all I have left is to set up the 4 Windows XP VMs before I install games again.

Remind me why you need so many VMs with the same OS?

In a nutshell, it’s for nostalgic purposes. I have a lot of educational games I want to experience (again for some).l for the funsies. Sounds strange, but then again I discovered and enjoyed playing Brain Games for the first time when i was already a teen/young adult.

Makes sense, but why not just one VM?

Unless one has an absurd amount of programs open, I don't see why 16GB RAM would be utilised. Is it not a virtual memory setting issue?

I dont know. Its down to 8 gigs, but i feel like it shouldnt use even that much to run!

There's nothing wrong with that, it caches as mentioned in an earlier message. It uses more RAM on purpose to make your programs run faster, because you have enough available. Windows has been doing this for a long time and using up plenty of RAM, otherwise, what's the point having all the extra RAM to just sit there and never get utilised? If the computer is running without any issues, then it likely doesn't have any issues.

I haven't been following this conversation too closely, but are you certain it is the RAM or is this just hearsay and assumption?

If you've got suspicions I'd probably look at running diagnostics on the RAM, there are RAM testing tools and guides online. Troubleshooting isn't fun but you've got to be systematic and methodical about it if you're looking for the root cause of a problem.

- I've had and will have to do a fair amount of driving this weekend and next week
- I'm a little nervous as I'm going to have to take time off work and I have had been subject to a few sudden disappearances lately that's got me worried my peers may think I'm taking the mick
- I'm also starting to feel a little isolated with my current friend group, but I'm also terrible at reading people and given past outbursts I've had when misreading situations I don't really want to push things either...

My latest response was regarding how much RAM is being utilised, which in itself isn't really an issue. Windows for me always seemed to use more than 8GB easily. If it's still about random crashing or BSODs (and not about the amount of utilised RAM), then yeah of course this should be figured out. I'd start with BIOS and driver updates though before thinking it's RAM in such a case.

+ Got out there and got my free flu shot! It's a pretty big deal to me, since I walked there and back and got it done. Hey, nobody was about to drive me there. Might as well take matters into my own hands for once...

- Had to start the clothes really late in the day. We try not to run the washer/dryer at night, since we use solar and all...

- FUCK, I can get a free shot but I completely forgot to go ahead and book it.
- I've been doing a lot of driving in the dark lately, I don't mind when it's quiet because it's chill. Bit more of a faff when it's busy.
