The Mandarin is a fascinating character. Easily the best villain in any of the Marvel Studios films. I hope we get to see more of him in the future – maybe he could be involved in a future Avengers film?

For a second I thought I'd missed something, then I realised it doesn't come out here until the third of May.

Olympus Has Fallen. It left me a bit cold. Kind of movie you forget about three minutes after you watched it. Not judging it for its over the top slow motion American flags, but for lacking a lot... everything. We're supposed to care for a kid that barely has any screen time, the destruction scenes are Michael Bay's porn, and I didn't know that receiving a phone call from Morgan Freeman is the cure to a broken back. I'm serious, they show the main character (Who was so interesting that I don't even know his name) falling through several floors, landing on his back, moaning, and then he just... goes on.

Unless your in for some generic action, stay away from this one.

Isn't that the new movie where Morgan Freeman enters? It must be cool with him.

I just saw Oblivion. Actually, Morgan Freeman was one of m least favourite parts of the movie. He and his character just seemed very tacked-on and unfitting.

The movie was absolutely brilliant though. To me, this film has some of the best art direction out of any sci-fi film I've ever seen, especially right near the end when he was flying toward the pyramid; I can't describe how atmospheric it was.

In light of my thinking the movie was artistically jaw-droppingly outstanding (as was most of the movie itself), I didn't like the very end. The resolution felt very lame. It's as if we had this massive build-up to some amazing climax, and then it just ends by having civilisation start over. I hate it when movies have civilisation start over, especially in a world where it didn't need to and technology was so prevalent. No one even seemed depressed about the fact that the human population was reduced to starting over by living in the woods. Why.

I saw War of the worlds (I know I'm late on this one) and I found it quite enjoyable.
there were some really wierd this about it too.. at the start you see someone with a camera filming the rise of a tripod.. but all (and I mean ALL) other electric devices are defect because of the tripod.. which bothered me a little.
What also bothered me is how the f*ck the son could've survived a giant explosion.. HOW THE F*CK DID HE DO THAT!?
But overall.. this movie was fine.. it missed a few spots.. but it was fine.

It's not The War of the Worlds unless it's about a journalist who meets an artilleryman and a curate while wandering Victorian England in the midst of a Martian invasion.

Yes?
In general, critics all seem to strongly dislike the movie.

Recently watched Disney's Tangled. I love that movie. (No. NOT because I am like most crazy fangirls for Flynn Rider. GOSH. Overrated much?) It's humor and concept always gets me. :fou:

That was the original story from the book wasn't it?
Maybe it's not the original War of the worlds but I enjoyed the movie anyway.

I saw V for Vendetta yesterday night. Dark, but I enjoyed it. It makes a clear reference to a political view that sadly everybody knows.

Check out Battle Royale if you haven't already, its similar in premise to The Hunger Games, but crazier and more violent :bad:

No they don't. 56% of critics gave the film a positive review, and most of the 44% who didn't were only ambivalent.

Hell yes. Thank you, eighth-grade required reading!

I just saw Iron Man 3 two days ago. It was fantastic, and far, far better than the second one. My favourite parts were probably when Tony was interacting with the kid. Another thing I liked was that, unlike the second one, it was quite long, and it focused a lot on character development. 80% of the time he isn't even in the suit, but the movie was still Iron Man, no mistake. I might even go as far as to say it was better than the first film.

Pepper being sort of a damsel in distress bothered me a bit during the runtime, but that was phased out when she destroyed everyone at the end. I think she could have done a bit more for the rest of the movie.

Jurassic Park in 3D. I have an review of it posted on my DeviantArt page. But I forgot to commentate on the old-school cgi effects. Oh well. Let me just say that I'm neutral with them, but the raptors absolutely do not look like THAT. The Velociraptor lives in Asia, a tad smaller, thinner snout, and feathered. Not North America, but it's cousin is the Deinonychus and the Utahraptor which is the biggest raptor specie.
