Today I got out earlier from school since the last class was presentation, and to kill time since my father couldn't pick me right at the moment I went to FNAC to check the novelties. This month's BGAMER, the portuguese gaming magazine I ocasionally buy, had a review of Rayman Legends so I grabbed it and I went to the payment box. The cover was about Watch Dogs and the guy who assisted me in the purchase saw it and was like "Oh wow, this game is going to rock for sure!". I said that I watched the E3 of this year and that I was finding Watch Dogs equally impressive and believing it will sell well. I explained I actually bought the magazine since it had a review of RL and me being a big fan of the character and a collector too and he says "Rayman Legends? *Reads the cover* Oooooh! You mean, that limbless character?", I got surprised and I told him he was correct. He told me that he owns Rayman 1 for PS1 and back in the PS1 era he was playing the game a lot and finding it very addictive. I took the chance to tell him that I recommend Rayman Legends a lot since in its whole is a great game, and that I owned the Wii U and PC version but since he only had a PC, I told him that it is as good as the Wii U although I was recommending the Nintendo console's copy a little more. He thanked me and told he would definitely consider my advice. His next declaration also surprised me, since it is pretty much the same point of view and opinion I have: he hardly can get really hooked to games nowadays, because they mostly focus now on realism and forget the fun factor. I told him I was agreeing completely and that personally I think the gaming market changed a lot in this last decade, and fun factor is the most important thing for me in a game although I also don't despise good graphism.
This quick talk made me happy by knowing that Rayman isn't fully forgotten by the portuguese players and there are still people liking him.

Funnily enough, though Rayman doesn't really come up as a topic for conversation, mentioning him to some fellows in college will result in acknowledgement of his PS1 days and onward, it is definitely nice to know that Rayman still holds a place to those outside the fandom.

Yeah, my college friends mostly play online competitive shooter, GTA, et cetera, but they know exactly who Rayman is, and when I told them the game I'm hooked on right now is Rayman Legends, the knew of the game already.

The recent addition of Origins and Legends (Legends of course being a WiiU release title) has put Rayman back in the spotlight of gamer attention. There will be a lot more people who know Rayman now, while what they released wasn't even such a groundbreakingly gobsmacking set of titles like maybe Rayman 1, 2 or 3 were back in the day. But maybe they did - after all - platformers other than your regular plumber and hedgehog have been forgotten in the recent market so a good, hefty big-corporation-release platformer with some innovative elements here and there boosts your crowd appeal.
But maybe I'm just talking crap here - do correct me on that!

This'll be your first post in the English side of the place, no?

Its because at least 80% of the members on RPC speaks English and not French. I'm pretty sure I'm the only French member that is active
everyday of the week and always posting at the moment.

Before Incognito, there was a post once every 4 days or so, so no. And I doubt it going to die since we still got some French members coming in and I think its still active enough to not die. Plus its the main language of this website no?

I hope it stays that way then. Might as well use a translator and read some pages in broken English or Dutch.
Bradandez wrote:There was a Dutch forum?
I've heard there was, but due to inactivity there's simply a dutch thread now.

There was also an Italian one that ended up bombarded with spam before its closure.

The RPC Documentary certainly has facts aplenty to explore, seeing as it's been around for a decade now.

Is anyone else having a hard time imagining where Rayman's nostrils would be? Like, I can't imagine them being on the end of his nose, I wanna imagine them being on the underside of his nose but still I somehow can't imagine them physically being there either.
