Oh so I guess I'm a hypocrite too 'cause I don't care about the telescopic fist not being in Origins eh?
Great logic.

Lots of game characters lack their trademark move in various games, like Sonic who stop using the Spin Dash in Sonic Colors and mario doesnt use mushrooms in mario 64/mario galaxy for exemple and basically no one gives a damn about it since the games where good even without those things.
And remember RO events happen before the original game, in the original game he didnt use the telesomething fist until betilla gave it to him in the end of the first level.

To be honest, I read somewhere it is more of a reboot. You still get your point though.

I don't care too much about the telescopic fist too...
<sarcasm>I guess I'm a horrible hypocrite then...</sarcasm>
I mean, it's a beat'em up sidescroller with probably bigger amount of enemies on each level so I wouldn't have much time to charge the fist up.
It wouldn't be too useful compared to the other moves shown in the playable demo. (At least in my opinion.)

I totally agree with this post, too.
Also, it feels more like a reboot to me (and read about that as well), so yeah...

The internet is filled with lies and ignorance. Do not listen to it.

I'm bothered by the lack of telescopic fist.
Though the powerups and this:
satisfy me. Rayman's helicopter hair is more of a signature move.

I belive since Rayman could use Helicopter Hair in Rayman Origins but not in Rayman 1 until later, something happen during the events of Origins that made Rayman lose is powers until Rayman 1 where he got them back.

Probably the theft of the Great Protoon, just like the explosion of the Heart of the World did?

Again, suspecting it's a prequel, it's certainly possible.

I may have been a little harsh, but yes, someone who calls himself a Rayman fan and truly, absolutely doesn't care about the fist's absence in the game is a hypocrite.
Congratulations for offending me. Can I be honest with you? Stop being paranoic about the subject.
I think that the telescopic/magic fist is a main feature in the Rayman franchise and shouldn't be replaced.
I also think it is caracteristical to Rayman since the beginning, but it isn't the telescopic fist that determines the reason for me to be a big fan of Rayman and his games, it would be really stupid. Mario's jump attacks are also caracteristical of him, but it doesn't determine also the reason for I enjoying his games. And plus, my favourite game in Rayman's trilogy is Rayman 2: The Great Escape, where the telescopic fist is unexistent. I didn't need it in the game to enjoy it a lot.
It's what made Rayman a unique platformer. Now they're implementing combat mechanics from other games, especially Mario, which turn it into just another platformer. Again, it's not in a bad way, I'm sure it'll be an awesome game with lots of elements from other Rayman games, but it will never be perfect without the fist.
I don't agree. That's a silly argument, really. One of my reasons for loving Rayman's games are their universe itself and stories that carry. The same applies for Mario's games, Oddworld's games and others. I'm pretty sure that Rayman Origins will be superior to R3HH, and possibly better than Rayman 1.

#ifndef BETTER
Now this is what I call overestimations.
With no doubt RO has great chances to become a good game, I can't imagine it being better than R1 so far, mostly because of art direction (which I find to be some mix of R3 and RRR humour rather than), epicness of R1's level design (Gendoors!) and such stuff.
#else
OK. Let me compare two games: Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Rayman 1. Which of these you find better?
It is definitely possible that I got more fun with SSBB than R1. However, quality of that fun varied in favour of the latter.
When comparing RO and R1, keep in mind that some features of the game, while making it more fun, not necessarily mean rise of quality.

This has probably already been posted, but anyway, new video interview from Destructoid.
http://www.destructoid.com/interview-he ... 3955.phtml
In response to a question about the game being on 3DS, the interviewee answers:
*pause* Um... I don't think that uh... I don't think we've been talking about that yet.

Quickfist?
Not another nickname change...
The 4th October is a possible date. If in the American continent interviews done to Ancel and Gabrielle during the E3, the date was mentioned to the endings of the year (Amazon.com saying it is 15th November although a real confirmation wasn't really said) I presume that date is relative to the American continent territory. The European continent version could be released earlier, in this case a month before. I believe it is probable to be true.
