Re: Rayman M-Arena
Also somewhat cruddy animation loops / transitions and a 4-player select screen (or was this Arena even though it called itself M?).Haruka wrote:Wow, it was really worth getting the hands over the demo, there are differences when compared to the final game:
- Different loading screen
- Different Shadow Plains artwork
- Different energy spheres
- Some changed sound effects
I'd love to have been able to play Rayman M 4 player... what I'd give for one of those...
Re: Rayman M-Arena
I'll have the chance of trying for a 3-Player combat of Rayman M (And Arena) for the first time next Summer!
Anyway, I'm glad that the problems of the demo were fixed in time for the final release. Even the optimization timing was different in the demo (and worse), not to talk about the ugly text fonts too.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
Uhm, is it only me, or are in the demo 9 playable characters, while in the final version only 8 characters are playable? Does it maybe mean, that Dark Globox was playable in the PS2 version? Just saying.
Re: Rayman M-Arena
You're right, I did not notice that.
It was quite probable that Dark Globox was going to be a playable character but for unknown reasons they scrapped him from the final version.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
So uh, if you're all interested, I made a video with some friends on Rayman M a couple of hours ago. None of them had ever played the game before really, so it was unfair, but still quite fun.
(I'm Jason in the video, in case you couldn't tell.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
I today played the demo and noticed something strange in the 2 player racing mode. Globox was making, while getting overtaken by Rayman the voices of the Teensies. It was kind of creepy. So is this a error or something?

I'd assume so. Unless Ubi wanted to give fans a scare or something, it's highly unlikely they planned that as a feature.Miss-Cerasus wrote:I today played the demo and noticed something strange in the 2 player racing mode. Interesting, though.
Re: Rayman M-Arena
I can't test the 2-player thing sadly.
By the way, guys. What are your favourite race tracks and battlefields in the game?
For the race tracks my favourites are Zenith Harbour, Electric Final, Pipe Maze and Treasure Ship. I think these four are very fun to play. I particularly love how we race in Robot-Pirate territories. For the battlefields my favourites are Spellbound Forest, Rise and Shrine, Gemstone Temple, Forgotten Dungeon, Ly's Palace and Shadow Plains and the reasons vary: since R2ish scenarios, level design and the soundtracks.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
My favourite race tracks and battle arenas?
Battles
Rise and Shrine's Timed battle (that music is gorgeous); Spellbound Forest; Ghastly Trees and the one with the full moon and the lamppost (Haunted something I believe).
Races
The Sewers (second or third one in) due to my earliest memories of RM being playing those; the Treasure Ship - its many, many sidepaths and ways to mess up others' routes are great; Zenith Harbour and the Electric Final.
Oh, and Born to Slide.
But all the others are still pretty f'ing great.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
Favourite levels? Well for races, Zenith Harbour is my all time favourite, followed by Lava Factory, and then Pirate Ship. Born to Slide is amazing with friends, too.
As for battles, Coconut Island is great for Lum Fight, as is Timber Wood. And I've always liked Lum Spring on Haunted Yard and Forgotten Dungeon.
Though, there aren't really any levels in the game that I don't like, honestly.
...Nope, can't think of any off the top of my head. I like all of them. :p But I do like those stated above more.

You do? I hadn't noticed.
Hmm, still need to play RM/A, perhaps I'll give emulating Arena a shot once I get round to my laptop replacement.

Careful with the sound, if you're planning on doing it using Dolphin. It can be a bit tempermental at the worst of times, eheh.Master wrote:Hmm, still need to play RM/A, perhaps I'll give emulating Arena a shot once I get round to my laptop replacement.
Re: Rayman M-Arena
I would actually suggest you to play the PC's Rayman M, Master. The game plays more than fine in nowadays computers.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
Arena is the better game, so I'd aim for that over Rayman M.
Re: Rayman M-Arena
You've played the European version?Adsolution wrote:Arena is the better game, so I'd aim for that over Rayman M.
I still did not play the American version but I know that it is possible to freeze oponents in the racing mode like in Rayman Rush, right?
Re: Rayman M-Arena
I'll be trying Rayman Arena for the first time very soon. Time to get things done with this boy.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
I've never actually played Arena, but I've played Rayman M to death. You can't go too far wrong with Rayman M if you ask me.
