Animating the bubbles so they would move properly must have taken me at least 40 minutes. And it's just four frames..

It's really not that hard once you get the hang of it. Also when I make soft strokes like in the bubbles, I use the usual round brush in Photoshop with the following adjustments:

Brush Tip Shape - Spacing 1%
Other Dynamics - Opacy Control set to Pen Pressure.

that gives the smoothest strokes purely based on how hard you press your pen on the tablet. You can add pen pressure to the Shape Dynamics too.
