Rock... Mr Stone I c wut dey did der. :hinhin: I cant decide what had the superior soundtrack the first or second game.. Both amazing and as you said packed with great variety.

The Third game has also awesome soundtracks. In my opinion. The Hoodoo theme is my favorite in the third.

People, think. We've seen that level before and it has appropiate music. I'm almost sure the game is not just random rock around the place, it has it's moments of mysterious, calm and sometimes epic music. It is possible that the song that you heard during that trailer is taken from one of those Platform Hero levels.

Some of Rayman 3's music is highly atmospheric and appropriate to the series, but there's a lot of grating techno crap in there too. The inconsistency in the soundtrack can probably be attributed to the fact that several composers worked on it, namely Fred Leonard, Laurent Parisi and 'Plume' (whatever that is).

It's a pity that whoever composed these tracks didn't do the rest:

On the other hand, whoever composed this should never be allowed to come within ten miles of a Rayman game again:

Some of my favourite musics of Rayman 3. The soundtrack of R3HH could be much better, I felt some lack of atmosphere that caracterizes Rayman's world. Rayman 2 and Rayman 1 soundtracks had atmosphere.

That music... 8'D I always thought it was Muddibogs vomiting. Surely the most awkward music of the whole game. It looks so "out of Rayman".

Last trailer: April 2012
New trailer: August 2012

Wow, the news on this game arrive in dribs and drabs. :)

My opinion about Barbara...

She is a human. Well, it's new. Until now, in the Glade of Dreams, there were just beings that look like humans (Rayman and other characters of Rayman 1 for example) and humanoid characters (most of the fairies). But why not? I'm not particularly shocked to see a "real human" in a Rayman game.

Now, I wait to learn more about the story of Barbara. And I wait other trailers too. I hope they will show other levels and other characters, because this world with a castle and those Lividstones are cool, but I want to see more things.

By the way: See Rayman with a human character reminds me Rayman Dictées, a (spin-off) series of French educational games, where Rayman has some human friends.

Hunter's all like: "Oh please, surely you should know that I made my debut in the series long before this uncontrollable brat and her ridiculous axe."

Along with Baby Chefs and Grannies, Hunters are my favorite enemies in RO, because its fun to first do acrobatics with their missiles and then attack them. It had been better if there were more hunters in RO.

Btw in R3 i liked most the following soundtracks: Snowboard Race (IT ROCKS!), Curious Globox (relaxing and beautiful) and Second Transformation (So epic).

Just to point out.

Rayman 3 land of the livid dead was very a calm relaxing world. With Ghost teensies (Mouru)

In Rayman Origins well, there it was ''Grannies'' and it was under the snoring tree.

I wonder why they changed that huge difference. :|

No need to point out that difference, most of us are aware of it.

Humans aren't that new in Rayman games.

Their first appearance was in Rayman Dictèes, a game from 1999 if my memory doesn't fail. Betina from TV Series is also a human.

i agree, with rayman 2 alot of the music resembled one another and had a very peculiar distinctive feel which I love. Rayman 3 had a soundtrack like Spyro 3 in which it had multiple composers though still maintained Steve Copeland and his memorable spyro tunes, but you could easily differentiate them from the new composer. Outside the fairy council and Land of the livid dead are quality, the game should have been full of atmospheric, beautiful pieces like them :)

Damn, I had forgotten that the Hunters are now humans. :oops2: I prefer this new style to their limbless form, personally.

Yep, they appear in a lot of spin-off games (and the Rabbids series), and notably in Rayman Dictées (There are three editions: 1998, 2002 and 2005. I have a game of the 2002 edition. Very good memory.)

But humans are new in the major games of the series.

So, with Rayman Origins, the developers have decided to include humans (good and bad) in the Glade of Dreams. Maybe to expand the species of this world, who knows?

Have you seen? On the side of the bad humans, we have proud and boastful men, very military and armed with guns, and on the side of the good humans, we have (for now) a little hyperactive girl, dressed like a Barbarian of the ancient century and armed with an old axe. :)

Brilliant! It is true.... Humans are evil in Rayman's universe! They just want to catch innocent magic people with their cages and gunpowder. Maybe they want them in some sort of museum or in a zoo for magical creatures

Indeed, the existance of Hunters proves that Barbara is not out of place in Rayman's universe, especially considering that she might just be part of a painting and that we could possibly be able to meet more characters like her (probably not just humans).

Probably because of the R3 one being the overworld and the RO one being the underworld.

I see Barbara a little too normal for a Rayman game, but it's ok I guess. I only want an explanation. I mean, what the fuck is a human doing in Rayman's world and helping him!?

She could be an outcast Nymph or something of the sort, hopefully they go into detail revolving around her origins and why she is even here

:boon: as said before, humans exist in rayman's world. Lividstones and Hunters are humans... oh, and that's not rayman's world, it's a magical painting.

Also, to answer your question, who knows? she looks like the kind of character who doesn't give a fuck about the people that she redeems. She might be joining rayman because:

1- He knows how to kick asses. Manly-monstrous barbarian girls like badass guys who know how take a dragon by the tongue and punch it in the face.
2- She probably follows the philosophy of "my enemy's enemy is my friend". Rayman is saving her world, so why wouldn't she join him?
3- Again, she probably doesn't give three flying shits.
