No. Fucking. Way.
Ditto. In fact, my friends don't even know Rayman existed. My sister has played the games with me but never got, like, hooked on them the way I did (which is too bad cuz she likes videogames too, but at least she tried unlike certain people I know), and my cousin often ridicules me for liking Rayman, often going so far as to say to make fun of his limblessness and calling him "creepy". But does that bother me? HELL to the NO. I am always going to love Rayman for who he is, period.
(Sorry forgot to bump).

Why would you be ashamed of liking something in the first place?
As for the question itself, of course not. I was a huge fan of Rayman since I played Rayman 2 for PS1 in 2014, so no to the max. I'm also currently playing Rayman 3 for PS2 since I wanted to play again cause I beat the PC version and to bring back the fun times.

I just seen this thread now. Excuse my language but why the fuck would I be ashamed to admit I love this amazing game? Rayman 1 was a big part of my childhood. I took a long break from it since Rayman 1 but now I've played and completed all the main series ones and I'm even playing Rayman 1 again now. I'm even close to collecting every copy of the main series games and spent €100 just for the Jaguar copy of Rayman as it's so rare.
So am I ashamed to admit I like Rayman? As imco says
NO FUCKING WAY!!!
If someone is ashamed of Rayman, They should be ashamed of themselves!

In the first months of being a Rayman fan, I didn't want to tell anyone I like Rayman very much but as I kept thinking about Rayman himself, I couldn't avoid these symptoms of the Rayman fever...
I didn't admited that I'm a Rayman fan until on March 1 2017 in the afternoon, when my mother was the first person to discover I'm a Rayman fan.
I am not ashamed to say that I am a Rayman fan nowadays.

I will admit in public that I've played Rayman games in the past, but I won't tell anyone that I'm still interested in the Rayman franchise, maybe because I feel that I'm too old for this

.

If that was the case then I'm way too old for this, but there's no way I'm ashamed in admitting I like Rayman.

I don't think I am. Back at my original school. Almost all of my best artworks that I made had Rayman in them. The artworks that I am talking about were the ones you guys here in RPC have seen. The ones I showed in my art thread were from school.
People acknowledged that I like Rayman.
And the funny thing is, whenever someone sees me having Rayman in my art, they say:
"Oh, wait a minute! I recognize him. I played that game before!"
I kept getting that same reaction from anyone who sees the drawings so I don't think there is any point in being ashamed in admitting that I like Rayman, for me at least.

I literally just tell everyone I like Rayman to be honest. It's the same with many other things, I don't really pretend not to like something just because someone else doesn't.
It's clear that not everyone likes the same things, and music is a prime example of that. One person can love a band while another would be like "how can you listen to that crap".

It's funny that some would consider this something to be "ashamed" of, because I have never met anyone who actively disliked Rayman.

I've never seen anyone that said they literally didn't like it, but there are people who don't have that much interest in it. They wouldn't say they hate it, but they just wouldn't really be into playing it that much.

I have a cousin who calls his limblessness creepy.
I would never be ashamed of admitting it tbh. Nobody's gonna try to change my mind about Rayman either, I'll always love him, Globox and his series.

I guess it can be creepy if you overthink it!

Like in that phantom limb freakout video…

I'm definetely not ashamed, I personally think that the Sonic fans have it worse, mainly due to a large amount of weird art and some questionable things that the fanbase did, plus the hostile behaviour of some fans with different opinions, I've experienced one.

To make them realize that limblessness is far from the creepiest thing one can imagine?

My dad is the one who introduced me and my siblings to the series, so there’s no way I could feel ashamed! All Rayman gives me is a sense of nostalgia and memories of the good times we’ve had with the games.

I think at this point, if I was ashamed of admitting it, I wouldn't have used the name Steo here, and I wouldn't be a moderator in many places under that alias.
Plus I wouldn't have found my partner, since they were in the Rayman community afterall.

At the end of the day, you’re happy Steo. And anyone who judges someone for something as small as their interest is just bitter.
