Hmm, maybe we could take one step further and have Polokus be a fictional representation of Michel Ancel himself, but I think we're veering into extreme fan stuff there.

Hm, I vaguely recall such a headcanon, but I think I could do with a refresher.

If it helps, I associated it with the little girl from Silence in the Library from Doctor Who.

I think that throughout the games, there is more than enough evidence that Polokus indeed is Ancel himself

Well, I just figured that since Jimmy created Rayman's world in the first place, that it'd make more since for him to become Polokus whenever he enters the world. And, like in a former headcanon of mine, Jimmy's son is the one who.becomes Rayman.

The idea of a Rayman cartoon has always been really fascinating to me. The whole series has been so cartoony and whimsical that it wouldn't be a bad idea at all when done in the hands of the right writers and storyboarders. Especially the character designs are pretty much already there. They're so unique that you just really want to know more about them. Maybe it could a miniseries on Cartoon Network, like Over the Garden Wall? And if a new Rayman game is released, it could also kind of work as an advertisement... but a good well-written one, that is!

While the games obviously should keep the focus more on gameplay and having fun rather than telling a story, the cartoon could fully focus on the story side. Because we all know the Glade of Dreams is full of possibilities. I'd love to see the characters with more personality and backstory. "Deep, complex storytelling" should never be confused with "Dark, gritty and depressing all the time". Even the darkest cartoons out there (Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Gravity Falls...) are still intended to be comedies, but they also know how to hit us in the feels every now and then.

I myself would combine elements from every single Rayman game in the main series; one of them being bringing back characters from the older games to see how they'd interact with the newer characters for example. Basically it'd be one big fusion in a way. I don't know, I might have said all of these things before and now I'm just repeating myself but yeah... Rayman is one of the rare examples of a video game series that could totally work as a cartoon too.

fusion is just a cheap tactic to make weak animated adaptations stronger

man i just went through this whole entire thread and honestly you guys all seem to have pretty sweet ideas. O: i may personally be a little biast because i still love raytas n all but tbh it's more for the other characters and the plot and stuff than rayman. it feels kind of rayman in the sense that it's artsy and whimsical and also flips and all that? but idk it would be easy to make a stand alone raytas and simply just awkardly craftknife rayman out of the picture.

which now that i think about it is a pretty damn sweet idea.

as for a rayman show itself i'm kinda with gn up there because rayman has so many different universes and different characters and such that are just kinda there for the one shot and as such it would make a show kind of difficult unless you combined everything together. O: i think it would work quite well that way myself (although personally i'm not entirely sure i'm still fond of the mass teensie retcon rayO did with ray1) (having said that i'm not sure how else they could have done it if they still wanted to pull a last of the time lords sort of deal.)

it would have to be very pretty imo like. scenery would be very important and design would also be pretty damn important and like ad said back there raytas almost got there. it was just made in 1999 and they didn't really have the technology to make it GOOD as such. it would have to be one of those shows imo where you could edit the characters out and get a pretty desktop background. O: like steven universe then haha

i'm not quite as fussed about voice acting but a friend on tumblr has convinced me to watch a few episodes of ren and stimpy so i kindly request no billy west because now that's all i'm going to think about.

I'd like a cartoon based on the cancelled Rayman 4 game but with characters from all the games in the Rayman series.

Mr Dark could team up with the Magician and Razorbeard.

I think a Rayman cartoon or series that actually takes place in the foresty parts of the Glade would be awesome

I was actually working out a type of thing like that, but the only real details I have is the world, and like, one episode concept.

Also The Magician would have a small flying robot companion to bounce off of because villains with sidekicks are fun to write for.

The RL cast would make a rad cartoon cast, I really liked that animation RicePirate (think that's his name) did for the game. In fact, an RO/L based cartoon could be a great opportunity to flesh out some of the environments/characters/enemies of the games.

This may have been asked a million times already, but I want an update on who do you fellas think should voice the characters if a cartoon was made, now that there's so many great voice actors out there? I'm not an expert on picking, but I do know that the R3 voice actors are possibly my favourite. I'm just not sure if they could return. Also Tom Kenny. Pick any modern cartoon and Tom Kenny can most likely be heard at some point.

As long as Rayman doesn't have a New Yorker accent like in the awful tv series...

Unfortunately, my connection is pathetic, I can't watch more than 5 mins vids in extremely bad quality.

That Donkey Kong cartoon made me too terrified of early television quality CGI to find out what Rayman TAS overall is like.

It's better quality than Dk, but isn't anything remarkable.
