Taxes here are just so high to begin with, I'm pretty sure you're better off in the end!Master wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 8:24 pm Oh ok, they're a lot more friendly about that your end then. I think atm here there's a lot of back-and-forthing about the benefit cap.

Re: The reunion thread
Probably, though I don't tend to pay too much attention to the minutae here, it gets dealt with employer end.

Re: The reunion thread
It's mostly the same here, but I can still calculate the ratio of what my employer pays versus what I get at the end of the day.

Taxes suck in general, you pay taxes on your wages, you pay taxes on things you buy...

And sometimes, you wonder what you get for it.

Re: The reunion thread
There's a high controversy here because most of the famous people go to Andorra and the main explanation they give is that they feel they're throwing money to the toilet when they pay taxes. Does that happen in France too?
Re: The reunion thread
You're stopping too early. The true ratio is what your company pays versus what another company receives with you using that pay, e.g. a full cycle of the money. Employer contributions -> Worker contributions -> Income tax -> VAT -> Corporate tax. Here you go.Hunchman801 wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 9:41 pm It's mostly the same here, but I can still calculate the ratio of what my employer pays versus what I get at the end of the day.![]()
That's what a lot of people say here as well but I don't know if that's a reality.DaveRattlehead wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 9:59 pm There's a high controversy here because most of the famous people go to Andorra and the main explanation they give is that they feel they're throwing money to the toilet when they pay taxes. Maybe what Hunch needs to do is win the lottery and live off that.

And that's how we top the list of countries by tax revenue to GDP ratio...LoveMetal wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 10:04 pm You're stopping too early. I guess that depends on how much you spend your time in a go-kart.DaveRattlehead wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 10:30 pm If you like racing it will be a very cool experience. Be prepared to have sore arms for three days![]()

That's cool that y'all have met up. It's still awesome that I met up with Hoodcom and intend to next year as well. As well as having his leftovers!LoveMetal wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 5:08 pmIsn't it in the last one -at least 5 years ago- that we met that junkie girl who wouldn't stop speaking nonsense and wanted to knock me down?
That's awesome, I've been working on losing weight myself. Also got a treadmill for my parents, which I use for myself too.Cairnie wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 5:28 pm I've got a way to go yet but one thing that has been happening is that I've been losing weight because of the location of my workplace so I've been doing a lot of walking. Not so much hiking, but walking for more than 2 miles a weekday nonetheless. Since March I've gone from weighing over 70kg (which if you're under 150cm tall that's bad news), down to 64kg at the moment so I'm happy to have lost that so far.

20 minutes is more than enough to get some pain if you're not used to go there!Hoodcom wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 10:33 pmI guess that depends on how much you spend your time in a go-kart.DaveRattlehead wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 10:30 pm If you like racing it will be a very cool experience.
