You're going to do a ruckus just because the game is another one in 2D? Chill down, a 3D game will come in the right moment. These take time to do, you know?

Well, by not buying it also won't help Ubisoft to create a 3D game.

How can you be so sure they'll ruin the series if we barely know anything about the new game?

Why it would be dumb to release RO2 for PC? Be glad that RO1 does not own DRM, or else the game would sell even less and have much more piracy (Just look to SPORE). Not everyone owns the consoles where RO got released, and only have got a computer. I would be thanked again if RO2 was released for PC, I would be interested in getting for it.

PS3 and 3DS versions by the way.

THEdragon wrote:The Magician's hat? Haha, but the Magician turned evil and got blown up in the last game! So that hat is either some kind of new magician (Who says there can't be more than one in the Glade of Dreams?) orrrrr a placeholder for something else as the game is still a work in progress. Bringing back the R1 Magician is too good to be true. :P But really, these new screenshots look much better than the first few in my opinion.
If you look closely at that picture it seems, to me anyway, that the hat is upside down and empty.(The Magician lost it at the end of the game, and the instruction booklet implies it has a mind of its own, weirdly)

Also on that Greek background the clouds are probably square because the artists didn't think it looked surreal enough, which was what many people on here were saying. To be honest the only thing I don't really like the look of are the enemies (for example when I read ghosts I imagined it meant zombie chickens, not boos from Mario) but in all the feel to the game's art is quite similar to the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman Raving Rabbids and the early Rayman 4 trailers.(Actually now I think about it there were enemies that looked like that ghost in the Organic Cave)

I wouldn't call the Organic Cave's creatures as "ghosts", but more like amoebas.

It's alright, Sergiomonty is the one chosen to draw the sword from the stone; he can wrap his head around it just fine. None of us peasants or mere soldiers and noblemen can fathom Origins' stupendous presentation, created only for the whitest of knights.
D'aww, stop it you, you're making me blush! nah, sorry, seriously, it's just that... I think I'm more a fan of Ubiart than Rayman himself... I'm more a "cartoons guy" than a gamer. Before the announcement of Rayman Origins, I wasn't really interested in the franchize. Then I saw it and I was like "OMG I MUST HAVE IT", and then started playing the games to put myself in the context to understand the prequel (ironically it was scrapped)... then I discovered that the Rayman franchize is incredibly awesome :mryellow: and incredibly underground... I mean, seriously, not much people talk about Rayman these days, at least not in my country o_o. The point is, I'm not a Rayman fan at all (at all, cause I am sort of), so I'm not used to your conplaints about a game that is (for me) artistically well done... I'm sorry for acting like a ragefag, then :oops2:

Neither would I, but the Origins 2 enemies (in my memory anyway) have a resemblance, and I thought that the enemies from the picture I am talking about was what the, erm, leak were describing as ghosts. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear.

Maybe Bionichute had a point.
Mammothphant, I would too like a new Rayman 3d game, but, causing such a fuss just because it lacks that dimension really is childish.
In the meantime, feel free to voice your opinions, but not in a way that only makes people look upon you with disdain.

Also, if you keep blushing like that I think I might fall for you!

They cant ruin Rayman series ANOTHER time like they did in 06, by making 2D madness games without spirit (those pictures reminded me Rabbids Travel in Time too).

RO was released for PC almost half a year after the console ones, but i believe that they dont let it happen again (cant be that dumb), because they know now how angry Mammothphant will be if they do. :hinhin:
You've clearly show us that you have an enormous fetish for giant bunnies, mammoths, and now the Z axis. Jesus fucking bastardized Satan, I'm starting to worry you might end up demanding that Rayman be created solely with four dimensions. Either way, ragecaps and angry emoticons make you look nothing short of a bloody fool, and I would advise you to either shut the fuck up or smarten the fuck up.

Mammoth could always look elsewhere for a good quality 3D Platforming game, I'm sure there's something good on Steam or PSN...
Honestly though Mammoth, 2D isn't that bad. Hell, some of my favourite games over the past year or so have all been 2D. Terraria, VVVVVV, Super Meat Boy, LIMBO, Worms Reloaded and the game this very topic is based on, Rayman Origins to name a few. I actually tend to like those 2D games more, don't know why. Guess I just like the art styles that can be expressed through a flat image which cannot be expressed in the same way through a 3D render.
Obviously most of us here are liking the look of this new sequel, but you aren't. That's fine, and as I said, there are plenty of other good quality 3D games out there. Just go and play one of them while you wait for Ubisoft to make a 3D sequel. Simple as.

I remember this. That was right when I said asldfjh He is a perverse furry whom must be exterminated.

Not to offend yours truly or anything.
Haruka wrote:Can I have a break in DGA for once?
No, Haruka. Look all around you, and now look up. Relative to yourself, the ceiling above you is further along the Z axis than the floor below you. Measure that distance, estimate the others, calculate the approximate volume of your room, and then sketch it out accordingly with a 1/64 scale. I expect an answer in five minutes.

just popping in to let you know on my opinion of RO2 based on the little probably fake info and screens that have been released.

but let me tell you with a question, do you really want to know? my very early opinion at this point is going to be even more negative than mammoths, however that can be possible, but I will say this, if the Greek gods (throughout the whole game at least), and new universe thing is true, then I will hate this game unless some other familiar characters make a reappearance besides Rayman and Globox, as well as the two moons from the glade.
that is all.
