Nice! The hair though is supposed to be horizontally flat, not vertically flat.

Yep. Pretty good if it's a basic draft that3DGuy! Obviously you're going to smoothen it and add more detail, right? Like the stripes on their feet.

Ahh, and Rayfan, I can begin on your drawing once I come back from school. Fortunatly, friday is a short schoolday for me since I don't have it on a wednesday. Yeah, Dark Rayman should be scary. He will suffice.

No, we don't. But Halloween is my favourite holiday nonetheless.

Anyway, question: How does a transparent (done with the alpha channel) texture get loaded on 3DS Max properly? I've tried loading my leaf texture, but it didn't become transparent.

I seriously am very hyped for the drawing Spanex! :D I bet it'll be a masterpiece. No matter, it'll be great anyway. Remember, it isn't so much a concept shot, it's a full-on attractive action shot.

I'm not a hundred percent sure, because I usually do that sort of stuff inside CryEngine3. I think you have to set the opacity to 99% in the Material Editor. If that doesn't work, there might be an "alpha test" option either in the material settings or within the diffuse map settings. I've not actually done transparency in 3ds Max before, I only assume it has that option because CryEngine3 and 3ds Max have a very similar layout, almost identical in some sections.

I love it, it's my second favourite next to Christmas. I'm dressing up as Edward Scissorhands. It's my second favourite movie of all time, and everyone says I'd fit the character perfectly. :)

Yep yep. But I was wondering about Dark Rayman's design since there seem to have been different concepts for him. One had a cross instead of a circle, for example. So which do you want me to take as reference?

Hmm, I still haven't gotten much the hang of the material editor, but I'm getting to exploring it a little. I don't know how to take a material off from the object though.

I downloaded this NVIDEA tool for Photoshop that lets you convert textures into bumpmaps (the colourful rainbow stuff) nearly instantly. I'll try it out when I get home.

Christmas is one of my favourites too. The thing I love the most about it is the music.

Hey, good news, RayFan: I'm officially going studying Digital Arts & Entertainment now, which means I'm learning 3D and C++ programming (well, that and working with popular engines like Unreal Engine and CRYENGINE) at an insane speed. Near the end of the year I'll probably have mastered all of those things, so maybe I'll be able to help you then. If you'd like. :D

My god, for real? Secretly I've always wanted you to be a part of this in some way, but this is fantastic! Good luck, and I hope to have you as a valued teammate.

One of the things I'll specifically need you to learn is how to create CryEngine3 flowgraph nodes.

Ah, make him have the colours of the PS1's Moskito in the boss fight of Moskito's Nest (with the red eyelids, grey proboscis etc), except reverse the eye colours so Dark Moskito has a black cornea and white pupils. 2:10:
