Yup, that's the one :D

I remember this other glitch i did at the beginning of the game to obtain all 3 starter Pokemon too. I think it was a box cloning glitch and it was actually pretty cool despite how risky it would be if I did in actual practice with a real game and GB.

There's a weird one you can do in Yellow too where you can end up in the Hall of Fame as you walk out of your mothers house.

Every now and then I feel like playing Pokémon Red (or Gold). Can't say I'm a huge fan of any of the generations that followed.

I feel that way about Gold and Crystal myself. I haven’t played a Gen 2 game in a really long time. It’s either been Gen 1 games and their remakes, or side-series such as PMD, Pokemon Colosseum, and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness.

Those were the main ones I was always into, except I had Blue and Yellow instead of red. Gold and Sliver I really liked. Gen 1 and 2 are definitely my favorites even though they're the oldest, I put many hours into those games in my childhood. :hap:

And Jonster posting Pokémon music on the forum only makes me want to play the old games even more!

I can't help that, Pokemon music is part of my jam, especially the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series. I bet R4Y_ANC3L would agree with me on that!

Speaking of Pokemon, I still need to finish Red on VBA. Well all i really need to do is catch Mewtwo and face the Elite Four and Blue (yeah I didn't call him Shit lol).

The final episode of Journeys: The Series recently aired in Japan last Friday. Man, the end of a very long era of Ash and Pikachu as the main characters. (well there is a Pikachu appearing in the succeeding edition but that one is called "Captain Pikachu" or something like that). :P

Maybe I should do this next RD too only with music from a different generation!

I don't really consider any of the creatures in there to be Pokémon so I'm not sure it would work. :mefiant:

Given that I used to watch Pokémon on TV when I was 7 and I'm now 31, I'm very surprised that the era only ended now. Nevertheless though, it makes me feel old to hear that it did. :P

I had been trying out that Arceus game on Switch lately also, it seems pretty fun how you can explore freely. Other than that, I had been revisiting the older titles and playing Leaf Green a while back since I never finished that one. I played gen 1 a lot, same with gen 2, but I had never finished the gen 1 remakes for some reason. Probably because I loved the original ones so much that I didn't want the change, and even appreciated the beep bloop Game Boy music (which explains why I like NES chiptune so much now too ).

I think Arceus is probably the one game from the 8th generation that I haven't played (aside from the Yellow remake), but my sister has it.

I finished Violet sometime ago and while I did it fun, it was obvious that there were issues with it (like graphical issues and slowdowns in random places for me. And do I need to bring up Tera Raids? :P ) But for me I liked this game better than Shield. I really wish I had Scarlet though, I think the designs and names for the Paradox pokemon are a lot cooler, with Iron Valiant being the only real standout on Violet (for me anyways). I'm curious to play the DLCs that I got recently though in a month so.

I never finished scarlet and arceus because I just found them boring (I kinda miss the simpler styled games there used to be up until) but I’m glad there’s people out there still enjoying the games

And there’s DLC? I was totally unaware!

For Scarlet and Violet, yeah. It hasn't been released yet (only the uniforms) but I already preordered it for myself.

Well I'm a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon fan. And thanks to those games I know quite a bit about Pokemon even though I haven't played any of the recent titles until Shield.
