Well, everything to do with anything is complicated, but that's a good paragraph-length description, to put it one way.
yeah i'll have to agree with this i mean they did kind of shut down the government when they couldn't agree on somethingEarth Gwee wrote:I honestly don't blame anyone outside of America for looking at it the way they do. That's the vibe a lot of our politicians give off because more often than not the only thing they're interested in is keeping their positions in office and taking advantage of the citizens, not upholding the constitution as they were supposed to when sworn into office, and act like a bunch of children when they don't get their way. The politicians who actually want to do good and improve the people's lives are either too few and far between or their voices are being stifled by greedy, bigoted morons. I know it's more complex than that, but that's seriously how I view our politics here.
Well, thanks. I don't know why, I've always had the feeling this game wasn't liked too much by the RPC community (no offense, that game can be very disappointing in some aspects).Shrooblord wrote:Awesome share, saer - I would have missed that.
Riot guys haven't done it yet, but they won't be the first ones (they seem to pay too much attention to Katarina, who is actually featured in all their trailers...well at least they put Jax in it. Dat lamppost tho'...). As you can see here, Veigar (and Jax) had already been featured in a cinematic involving CGI animation : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QNCJQmr5gw. It was apparently created by 5 French CGI artists, loving League of Legends, I don't know for whatever reason...Shrooblord wrote:Still rooting for the moment when they choose to include Veigar in a CGI animation. ~ Veigaarrrr <3

America is doing a great part of that because, as they have a big country with tons of resources, a big impact worldwide economically and politically speaking since the end of WWII, and such a big interest into the concept of freedom, they don't have the need to rely on somebody else. Even if they ceased any kind of relationship with the rest of the world, they could be fine. So as said Ad', a lot of this is true, because what's the point of trying to fix something if it's still working, because it's not working in another country? The only issue they face is the image they give of themselves, but why would some of them care anyway?Adsolution wrote:First answer

As I said before, it's true because msot of them don't see the point of doing so.technology4617 wrote:The main thing in your post I agreed with is America taking longer to adapt
The difference here is that we can exchange points of view way better than american people can, as our cultures and the way our countries evolve are different. Exchange and diversity is what makes things change, most of the time for the better.technology4617 wrote:all of which are slightly different from one another, each having their own positives and negatives, and I don't think cultural stereotypes are the best way to judge a country, particularly when you ignore the aforementioned positives.
Ja, I was moreso talking about how I didn't think a lot of the stereotypes associated with America are particularly fair rather than arguing against your post directly.Adsolution wrote:I was speaking from the perspective of others, in case that wasn't clear, as in, what they expect and why the bias exists. As expected though, like you said, 50% of those things still ring very true, which is unfortunately a lot.
Fuck Texas.Adsolution wrote:Recycling also isn't mandatory in all states. I've been to many places where the garbage-to-recycling bin ratio is probably around 50:1, and that '1' who put them up are the people who actually care enough to do so.
I was about to comment with 'Hey didn't they use Rayman 3 music for that?' when I realised I still had one of my tabs playing on YouTube. x) Funny thing is, the music coincided perfectly with the action and intermissions. It's still a nice video though.saerleiya wrote:As you can see here, Veigar (and Jax) had already been featured in a cinematic involving CGI animation : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QNCJQmr5gw.
Indeeeeeeeeed (where's my Fiddlestick? Oh wait, he already pwned Twisted Fate in the previous trailer).Shrooblord wrote:I was about to comment with 'Hey didn't they use Rayman 3 music for that?' when I realised I still had one of my tabs playing on YouTube. x) Funny thing is, the music coincided perfectly with the action and intermissions.
This was probably the best answer I didn't know I was searching for.Adsolution wrote:In most cases, Europeans looking less favourably upon people from America happens for the exact reason you think it would: People typically view America as being loud, obnoxious, controlling, ignorant, and egotistical. Why is that? They're constantly interfering with other countries and making stupid decisions, wasting resources (unlike most other first-world countries, recycling is almost nonexistent - they're also 15 trillion dollars in debt, allowing their country to grind itself into the ground), they have this want to control everything going on in the world (SOPA, Net Neutrality, highly unsophisticated and discriminatory drug laws compared to many European countries, etc), are completely afraid of change (one of the only first-world countries that have refused to switch over to the Metric system), misleading and exploiting their citizens. This reflects onto its citizens who have been born and raised there directly: Schools rarely teach anything not solely related to America causing Americans to generally be more culturally ignorant than other populations, their almost complete lack of recycling means that everything is thrown in the garbage - they'll just toss paper in the trash in other countries too as they don't know any better (this is an example, it relates to other areas of conservation as well; wastefulness/carelessness), and since they only know the Imperial system, that automatically creates a brick wall when trying to communicate any kind of measurement (as opposed to other countries which use Metric, but generally give you a good gist of how Imperial works). It all relates to them being a global superpower - they don't feel the need to educate their citizens about anything outside of America, because America is the centre. Whereas most other first-world countries still have to educate their citizens about America, because America is the superpower.DandyGuy wrote:Anyways I have a question to all of you (people who don't live and are not from America.) What, if any is your opinion on America and its Foreign Police's. I was told Most countries tend not to like America for many reasons and that lots of people in Europe are very political and tend to look more favorably on people from Canada than America. I don't mean for this to get "very" political (ironic since that's what im asking for) but I am interested to here your opinion since most of you I assume don't live or are not from America might have an opinion on it. (I suppose the regions I am directly speaking to would be the United kingdom, France, Germany, Canada, and Portugal.) (I also apologize for any spelling mistakes its been a 1 day since I visited Dreamland and I am very tired.)
Of course, this is all archetypical, spread out around the country, it's a 'vibe'. These are simply a list of reasons anyone could put together as to why Europeans might roll their eyes at an American - they expect to have to put up with someone who's likely to be at least one of the following: More wasteful, Less culturally educated, spoiled, and so on. Can these things be true of someone from another country as well? Certainly, but people know where to expect it from most.
I know you were asking for something more directly political, but when it comes down to the individual, it isn't very 'technical', since individuals don't affect the way their politics function. All of that reflects their foreign anyway: It's intrusive, outdated, messy, false and exploitative.

Even the Private Schools have the same problems as Public Schools in terms of drug problems, racists, and not knowing anything about anything and being more concerned what is posted on Twitter and Facebook.) I guess I always wanted to believe there was some where better in the world than America (Not a utopia) but somewhere where people have some idea whats going on and doesn't just follow people like sheep.

Everything! I've used it for tutorial videos in the past, I use it for my Skype, I use it to sing my songs into. And for singing, it truly is a beast. I'm having more trouble finding the right acoustics in the room itself than fighting with the artefacts a microphone will generate when recording.saerleiya wrote:Thanks for the help, Shroobie :3.
