There is no special secret how to acquire 40k in LS. Just follow the solution as much as possible minus the mess with the shoe.
And wow, the current activity is mind-boggling. Now if just top-gamers like Mand, Xenon, CC, Jona, sfn and Epona would start to actively play and join the competition again, that would be great.

I still wonder if I can reach the 600000, but it is missing so much yet...

What's your score in the Bog of Murk, Danone?
I've just read in MandM's guide about a shocking combo worth 20000 points.

CC = DTUCC
Epona = One of the true legends and most memorable players. Hard work, dedication, talent, perseverance and fairness are the essential causes for his score. Very honest and trustworthy person, way too underestimated, deserves much more respect and credit than he acrually received.

I never heard about Epona.
Only in Block during my childhood.

It is nice to see so much activity here. And good to see you found some motivation to play again.
I have been playing for about a week in the holiday, so I have not stopped playing. Improving my score goes infinitesimally slow, though, so nothing new to report other than I was one nanosecond away from finishing FC. I'll get there one day.
I don't think you can convince Jona to start playing again, but maybe you can tease Xenon enough to force him to finally do something about TLOTLD.
You mentioned you aim for 101.199 points in BOM. First, may I suggest you open a practise game and head straight for BOM part 6. Then try to spend a day or two hitting Razoff six times before he falls off the ball. Then you may get a sense of what you're up against. Now, the game plays out differently on each platform, so it might just be that six hits is indeed possible on your platform. Let me know how you get along with it. And good luck!

It is possible to get more than 20.000 points in part 1, but it's quite hard and requires many restarts. My best is around 20.500 points. However, a score of 18.000 - 19.000 is enough and not so hard. The Green Gem Combo alone will provide around 13.000 points. The remaining 5.000 - 6.000 points come from killing fish in combination with the yellow gems on the netting.
It is all explained in the walkthroughs on page 1, but I'll re-post the videos here.
In my experience 20,000 in part 1 isn't that hard to achieve. It all depends on how well you perform the canon trick. If you struggle with MandM's green gem combo (as I did), simply use the TC instead of the Lockjaw as illustrated below:
However, I would only suggest going for 20k if you're serious about TSBTC.
EDIT: I'm going away for a couple of weeks but if when I come back the activity here is still up, I'll pick up the cobwebbed PS2 and have another crack at TLOTLD. It's about time I reached 850k...

Yeah do something about TLOTLD! What's your score there actually?

It's 119,599, but 121,099 has now been discovered possible!

Wow, you're way behind the max score there! Which other levels could you improve your score in?

It's great to know you're still playing. I however forget you don't have a lot of possibilities left, at least until Nekrophil discovers that the Tribelle at the end of LS, Part 3 can be comboed with the shoe in Part 1. Good luck with FC, are you aiming for 49k?
And, thanks for the valuable tips concerning BOM, I'll do that soon. Similar to your experiences, I recall that I once managed to hit Razoff 5 times without him falling of the wrecking ball, but I suppose it's darn hard to carry out again, and whether I'll manage 6 hits is another story.
As for my progress, I'm now facing the contrary of what I previously had (fun). I completed Part 4 with a magnificent score of slightly over 66,1k, but I'm pretty much aware of the fact I'm about to enter hell. I believe it's going to take me a lot of time until I'm able to trigger the double-glitch at least once more
@Xenon: Finally! Good to see you're making some serious attempts to improve in the near future. I'm not even sure whether I'll have beaten you when you fully return, to spread some positive thoughts and hopes

There's room for some improvement in TSBTC, but I doubt I'll have sufficient motivation to revisit that level!

Haha, do you know how much you sound like Cut, when he declared he could accomplish TBOM with a spectacular score in a matter of days? By the way, it doesn't matter how good your score is after part 4; you still have to annihilate part 6 and finish by hitting Razoff six times So, bring it on!!

Today, I managed to improve my score in the bog of murk, but it implied to don't use the boat to reach the tree in wich they were gems in the thrid part of the level. XD I just get there by swimming (Losing some LPs BTW), and as it is way quicker than the boat, I still had the Spiral Fist Power up, and the x2 Bonus as well. So, I had a combo of almost 6000 points. XD
BTW, I found the two cages I didn't find in the Desert of the Knaarens today.

Hey guys, how's it going with you all? I'm just stopping by thanks to matyuv who regularly sends me links to this forum, but somehow I never get around to posting a lot :p and I even see you were talking about me, lol. MandM is right though, R3 is really history for me now. I do remember playing it like 2 years ago, when I was still stuck at SBTC, the last part with the green gem (and it wasn't even with that many points I believe..) and I did give it a few more shots in comboing the gem for 7500 but really, I've tried it a couple hundreds of times probably, and I got close two or three times, but that was just too hellish and random for me...
I remember that I even copied my R3 savegame file with a good SBTC score after part 2, so that I could just try another level and not have to play the snowboard part for the thousanth time... but i could still get back to it if I failed making any progress on another level. But the cruel thing is, I did make an improvement there somewhere and I still had to play SBTC all over, because the savegame wouldn't have my newly improved score.
I do wonder how the LOTLD score got improved, though. And here and there I've seen that you guys have been working on FC and made some nice improvements, so that's pretty impressive. I always thought that level could be improved somehow since it's much harder to get the absolute max score there is to get... But really, my skill level wouldn't be enough to play such hard combos all over again, so there's not much point in it for me to start playing again. But it surely was one of my most played games ever, and it was actually really fun to be so inventive with the game, not many games allow that kind of replayability. Perhaps R3 is one of a kind in that regard.
So any other levels got an extended maximum score since I've been gone?
