Re: Rayman Legends
As you can see on the gameplay video, you can kill the minotaurus without using murphy, just leave the beast swing his hammer and then crush him with a regular jump... pretty much like a whomp from super mario, but a lot weaker... Also, i'm sure those rotative platforms are programmed to rotate automatically when murphy is not playing... That would give some balance to the gameplay: with murphy you can beat enemies easily, but you're also forced to take control of the environment or the heroes won't advance.

Thanks for that perspective on it dude, didn't look at it in that mind set at firstsergiomonty wrote:As you can see on the gameplay video, you can kill the minotaurus without using murphy, just leave the beast swing his hammer and then crush him with a regular jump... pretty much like a whomp from super mario, but a lot weaker... I wished I could. We don't even know yet what's the Wii U release price.
Re: Rayman Legends
Me and Fat were thinking Rayman Legends would be an ideal game for PC, what with Murfy being used with the mouse and the other players with keyboard and gamepads. Not sure if this was mentioned already, but I would surely as hell enjoy playing Rayman Legends with my father - looking at the worlds and overall graphics of this game, it looks like it could slightly relive the spirit of R2, which was the first game we played together. It would be amazing to do a similar thing, 9 years later.

Re: Rayman Legends
(just an idea) Or Perhaps if it comes out for steam (As origins) you could invite a friend he plays as murfy/ other characther online? Re: Rayman Legends
True... Nintendo's merchandising mechanics are extremely weird this year... they didn't specify anything about wii u's mechanism, they didn't talk about the price or when will it be launched, they keep confusing people by just mentioning the "new controller", they lack on first party titles and the dissappearance of the starfox game that retro studios constantly promised, They promised hardcore games but took more focus on casual games like "SiNG... (tentative title)", they're not going to any of the comic conventions to promote their games (they're not even going to the tgs!!) just because they're too focused on the "wii u experience events", they forgot about 3ds and just reannounced the games from the last year... oh, and Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon was delayed til 2013...Haruka wrote:I wished I could. Re: Rayman Legends
So far no new footage from gamers at Gamescom aside from IGN's preview
Anyways, I'm really liking Barbara, she may be human, but she's a pretty cool character (her injured animations are not as crazy as Rayman's, but nearly there)
BTW, did they change the Teensie sounds? Rather than saying their thank you, they just squee with joy.

"Thank you" or "Anksthay youway" would be a bit too much I think. But I think they can keep some Pig Latin for dialogues and whatnots.BabyDragonChef wrote: BTW, did they change the Teensie sounds? Rather than saying their thank you, they just squee with joy.
Re: Rayman Legends
I've added a poll to try to have a general idea from who inside the RPC is going to get the console and the game at release so you can start voting.

OK, finally found the Gamescom gameplay (it has the IGN level, and a rhythm-based level) The first level is the one with the swarms and lava, the second is like the Living Dead, but it takes place in a rainforest with venus fly traps, giant monkeys, bouncy drums, vines and cool rain/lightning effects.
This game is definantly worth my money, but I'm not gonna spoil myself with info no more so I don't know the entire game

Re: Rayman Legends
AMAZING!! I loved the beanstalk level and it's music!! those musical levels are going to be addictive!!
fuck you Tricky Treasures, my heart belongs to Platform Hero! (I also noticed that Electoons are back... or well, at least their pink smiley symbol is back)
P.D: The way how Michael Micholic says the word "crazy" every time he presents the game makes me sick.

Re: Rayman Legends
Rayman Legends is the only WiiU exclusive that I'm even slightly interested in, and I think buying a new system for one game is a waste. I'll wait to see if it comes out for the other consoles, and if it doesn't, then maybe eventually there will be more games out that will justify buying a WiiU.

Re: Rayman Legends
As I said earlier, I'm not buying a console for a game that could easily be developed for the competing products as well. I believe these commercial arrangements are detrimental to the player, but well, it's not like I'm gonna miss the ginger.Bzzit wrote:Anyone here actually buying a Wii u just for Legends?
Re: Rayman Legends
I liked the beanstalk background, it reminds me the Rainy Forest of Rayman 1 for GBC.
It looks like the majority so far won't get the console in release.

Re: Rayman Legends
The lack of publicity in comparison to Zombi U and AC3, the exclusivity and the way how new super mario bros U is gonna be released on the same date is gonna lower the sales for this baby... pretty much like Rayman Origins. The game still looks extremely clean and well done, it would be sad if it wasn't adapted to regular controls without particular gimmicks, the game has enough potential to become a classic... sure, if the concept of Wii U doesn't get old... (still buying a Wii U, teehee)

Re: Rayman Legends
Well my brother pretty muchs "eats up" anything that Nintendo puts out, so he's buying the Wii U and I'm buying Rayman Legends so I don't have to play the piece shovelware that is called "Nintendo Land".

Because calling them 'fucking bastards' is exactly what will make them release Rayman Legends on your platform of choice.NotaKuroi wrote:I hate those fucking bastards and hate fucking wii u
Re: Rayman Legends
Oh well, if it isn't now, it can be later no?
If I ever get a Wii U, I'll wait first for a price cut. Maybe at that time there are more interesting games, and RL is cheaper too.
