I personally recommend you playing RR if you enjoy to explore more the levels and enjoying more interactive features. Also it takes approximately the double of the time (8 hours at total) to complete the PS2 version instead the classic version (All the others).

If you like a more classical and straight-forward gameplay then stay with the classic R2.

I actually preferred RR to the original game because it took the Hall of Doors concept and improved it.

I agree. Changing the levels seemed a little unnecessary though.

There were certainly pitfalls with Revolution, but in terms of design I think it dwarfs the original game.

@ spiraldoor: I think that second image is really misrepresentative. You've just shown a pic of the Minisaurus Plain... the Hall of Doors was replaced with Teensie stone circles which could be accessed by foot, not just teleportation.

I admit I wasn't exactly trying to provide an impartial comparison, but I think the two images I posted show clearly the reasons for my preference.

The Hall of Doors is distilled and streamlined excellence. The Front is an uneven hodgepodge of decent ideas and missed opportunities.

I agree the hall of doors is more epic, but if they would have combined the hall of doors and the front (a hall of doors where you can freely walk around) it would be really cool :D

I would like to take this opportunity to point out that the Isle of Doors is also amazing.

Yeah, the only thing that didn't make sense was the size of the island.

I would like a freeroam HUB like in Rayman Revolution, with the looks of the Island of Doors and the magic touch of the hall of doors.

The Isle of Doors is so great that I'm posting an image of it for all of you to admire.

Look at how fantastic it is.

That's even more true of the respective games in which they appear, come to think of it.
