Kinda, the school made it obvious it was Christian

Do you think that most people in your school are Christian though?

Once again, aside from a few, yes.

And do you have any funny school hymns you have to sing at your school?

We do lol, but nobody sings them, it’s just a bunch of awkward teenagers watching that one patriotic religious kid singing it in an opera voice

My parents both hate religion, especially my mom, because their parents on both sides were extremely religiously strict. I wasn't sure what to feel when I was younger because the rest of my extended family was religious and had some influence on me, but I sort of chose to adopt it internally until I was 16. I still have a lot of attachment to Christianity, and one of my best friends who's like a sister to me is very religious, and I think her faith is absolutely beautiful. I just personally can't rationalise the idea of faith for myself, but I almost wish I didn't feel like I had to sometimes.

My relationship with religion is sorta complicated, on one hand I do believe, but also I feel like it would almost be easier not to? Athiests don't have to worry about hell, but I also want to believe, idk.

I would say mine as well, and my views have evolved over the years, but it is kinda too complicated to explain in a record-day speedposting context. :hap:

I see what you mean, when you don’t believe it but you want to believe it. I think Christians must have a pretty happy life being certain that they will go to heaven

That's my issue tho. I worry that I'll somehow wind up in hell over anything.

Well you’re a lot better than me as a person so at least you know that if (which you’re not) you’re gonna go to hell you have me as company (which I’m not either)

Yes and no? I'm kinda not sure on it really. I mean, if someone believes in god, I'll respect that. It's maybe for me. I don't believe myself, but...I suppose I can't deny it either. The universe is huge, there could be something out there, sure. But it's also much too large for me to worry about the higher ups and where I'll wind up when I kick the bucket. So yeah, I'll just go with maybe.

I once formulated it into a simple rule - "Live your life so that you are don't have to be ashamed in front of God if he exists." ;)

Yeah, if god supposed to be humble I don’t think he’d be that fond of church, he’d rather have people living their life to the fullest

Haven't read it yet, I'd assume he is much more chill in the New Testament

well, saying that atheists don't have to worry about Hell like Christians do is like saying people who don't believe in paying taxes don't have to worry about going to jail

Hell is something you very literally shouldn't worry about as a Christian, in my view. If you go out of your way to do terrible things you know in your heart are evil without remorse, then you already know where you're going. That's what I mean by it being a choice.
