I was just trying to level up my Growlithe by battling some Mons in the wild, how did this happen Sadly, Raikou always ran away from me, even if i reloaded the save state 50 times..

Maybe, just maybe, if i picked Magnemite and confused them, i would have a tiny chance of catching them.. Either way, i still believe the chances would be pretty slim.

I don't exactly remember what I did, but I think I just immediately threw a pokéball and then reset when he runs away.

Him and Entei will always flee after the first turn, even if they have been put to sleep.

You need to trap them with a Pokémon that has mean look like Haunter or Misdreavus. But after that they have the ability to make you flee by using Roar.

Aren’t you locked out of ever encountering them if they use roar?

Not sure which games being discussed, but going off of what it was like in Gen 4, they're roaming Pokémon. If you get kicked out of the battle they'll move somewhere else and you'll have to find them again.

Well yeah, i threw an Ultra Ball at them and reloaded the save whenever they run away multiple times, yet to no avail.

Man, i don’t have either It seems like Zubat can also learn the move, but i don’t feel like leveling them up.

I’m playing HeartGold, so yes, it’s Generation 4.
So, hypothetically, if i went to a location near where i encountered them, i could encounter them again? That’s pretty sweet, though i would imagine it would take days, since they are so rare and all

If I remember correctly, the Pokegear gets an app where you can keep track of roaming legendaries on the map. I'll double check, but I know at the very least having them run away isn't the end of it, I've chased the Legendary Beasts when I played HG so I know how annoying it is to chase after them

EDIT: Ok I'm not sure if it comes with that ability from the get-go or if you unlock it, but if you look here you can see the Town Map has icons tracking Entei and Raikou

Yup, i know about that, though they don’t always appear on the map.
