Just a question, were you ever able to beat the GBA version?
Well.... From what I remember, I was somewhere in the Caves of Skops. I didn't beat the game, though. After a while I got bored of the game (My first Rayman obsessive phase had passed) and I eventually lost my DS. I had actually lost my Gameboy ages earlier after I lost the charger. So, yeah, one of my friends actually found my DS by a marvellous coincidence, but I haven't gotten it back yet. If and when I do, I will see if I can find Rayman Advance somewhere and I'll try to finish it.
And Rayfan's version of High Mountains is awesome! I actually made a really wierd video-type thing for High Mountains a week or so ago but it's messy looking and not worth watching. XD

Yeah, I think it was somewhere around Eat Joe- I mean, Eat at Joe's. XD
And oh Polokus help me I just listened to both versions of Harmony at the same time! My braaaiiinn!!!

do the first level over and over, that will help to get more lives
That's exactly what I've been trying to do - but it keeps forgetting about the extra lives I get every time I save the game and load back - so I always end up with only 1 life

That's a really wierd glitch! :/
I remember I had a game that would not save on my Gameboy Advance but would save on my Nintendo DS...
The best glitch I had was when I was fighting Space Mama and died - but when I re-spawned her health bar didn't, so I only had to punch her about 3 or 4 times and I instantly won

At least I think it was a glitch....
O__O Awesome! Maybe you respawned so quickly that Space Mama didn't have time to run to the hospital for healing! XD
I really want to give the DSI version a go but I don't own a DSI or have any other use for one in the slightest, and I can't find a ROM for it anywhere on the internet just so I can see what it is like. It's a shame

Is the DSI version much different to the others?
Also, doesn't anyone find it wierd that Rayman 1 came out of PS1 and PS3, but not PS2? I wanted this game and I own a PS2
I mean, the PC version's fine but it's a pain to run because it stutters like crazy and I have to use a bunch of DOSbox commands to run it.
There doesn't need to be a PS2 version because it has perfect support for PS1 games
I couldn't tell you much about the DSI version since I can't play it, but it seems to be a mish-mash of different versions. It plays like the PC version only 10000 times easier (with loads of health etc) with some of the traits of the GBA version (for example it's version of the story) and maybe the PS1 version as well (I can't confirm this). It also has some strange graphical changes - the slippery bars of music are now black as opposed to being shiny silver for one (weird change).
Also the sample rate is at it's worse yet, meaning all the characters sound like demons, which is surprisingly amusing XD
By 'the story is different' I mean the wording, not the actual events of the story of the game . Personally I think it sounds a lot lamer then the original.
Also, the first time I saw a clip of Rayman DSI and heard his victory 'YEAH!' at the end of a level I burst out laughing XD

I'm not sure if I agree with you here - I thought the enemies sound just fine. Rayman's 'YEAH' is a bit low though, but I don't know if that's supposed to be like that or if that's what you meant.

I JUST heard Rayman's 'Yeah!' in a walkthrough video and... WTF, it's like he hit puberty a second time XD I hadn't laughed at a funny voice that much since I heard Rayman's high-pitched damage yelp in the Sega Saturn version videos.
I am actually really frustrated with Rayman Advance at the moment. The problem was worse then I originally thought, and it's not just every time I save and load back it erases one of my lives, but also when I enter another level after having earned one .
I might try running the game on another console (either the other DS or a GBA) and see if it stops. I doubt it though....

I already knew that RA was the weakest R1 version according to the community. One of the cons I have about this port is definitely the shrinked screen. Due to lack of visibility and maneuver accuracy, I have beat the game the first time in this version with 67 lives and 5 continues.
RIP - My game of Rayman Advance . I've tried everything to get it working again, including some of the most ridiculous tests - but nope, the lives glitch remains, and only on my save game. I spent ages getting it that far too

I'm sorry to hear that, Electoon.
In other news, just less than ten minutes ago I finally got around to defeating Mr Stone.
