I played a few matches myself, was pleasantly surprised how fun it was.

I usually hate moving the wii U gamepad left, right, up, or down, but Splatoon is so quick and precise, it works very well.
I admit the Splat Roller is horrendously overpowered, really hope that's fixed, otherwise it was really fun, shamefully I don't think we can play the demo anymore now.

Well I've been denied access to a dozen matches due to the servers being overcrowded, so maybe they will test it one more time after adjustment.

It's a bit OP. There are some ways to counter it. Like the simplest way. Walk backwards and shoot. Git gud.

I love how people always say this when someone complains about a particular aspect of a fighting game or a competitive shooter when there is legitimately a problem. Nerfing be damned.

And I love it how people get fussy when they obviously don't know how to counter one of the game's mechanic and get called out on it.

I guess that's why updates for Smash Bros exist when people complain about an issue, but no, I guess the people are wrong.
Oh I forgot, Nintendo does no wrong, sorry.

I can never tell if these are jolly jaunts, or heated exchanges.

It's a heated exchange. I do have a reply to Rayfist about his post on the last page, but it must wait for I am busy at this moment.

I'm not taking it too seriously, but he definitely says some really bizarre things, like Mario Maker being worth $60, I'm starting to contemplate if it's worth arguing, lol.

I was told to justify it and I did.

1) It's a Mario game. A Mario game that can let's people make their own game. It's gonna sell. Nintendo knowing the general consumers are going to be intrigued aren't gonna lower the price.
2) A Mario game that's not directly a spin-off, but it has the basic principles of a Mario 2D platformer and those the games that sell the most. You can argue that Captain Toad is a Mario game, but it's not a traditional platformer.
3) I don't agree with the price, I'm just not surprised. So yeah, so much for the assumptions. Also, very funny. I'm the minority because I'm Mexican. Real funny.

And I've never seen an amiibo go over $100 for a single one. But yet you got people selling old games more than $300. But that's worth the price, because hey! It's old Nintendo, amirite?

Well, I guess you have your opinions mate. But I can't agree.

Damn it, how'd you know?
Bradandez wrote:And I've never seen an amiibo go over $100 for a single one.
The villager ones reach $70-$80 (not counting the Japanese ones)

Bradandez wrote:You can make an entire Mario game in Mario Maker.
Bar the fact that, as far as we know, you can't even do something like compose your own music. That already places a huge limitation on what I consider to be 'making a game' and makes it feel more like I'm toying with a rigid bunch of presets. Not that that'll ruin the experience for me, because level designing is a lot of fun, but you really seem to be closed off to discussing or coming up with simple things that could make the experience a whole lot better, and give you even more than what you pay for (in your eyes) - people like feeling like they're getting more than they pay for, don't they?

In my honest opinion, $60 is not justified, simply because level editors far more in-depth than Mario Maker have existed as free or cheap peripherals to games since the beginning of time. The idea that Nintendo wants to charge $60 for something that allows literally zero room for creative expression other than the whiteboxed level design itself to me is almost outragious.

I think you're defending Nintendo much harder than you'd ever defend yourself, say, in Elem's development. Would you charge sixty bucks for an Elem level editor wherein you're only given the freedom to whitebox? I know I wouldn't, I'd feel like a greedy slut.
Bradandez wrote:And also, I was referring to Rayfist seeing as he called me out for my "shit taste". Well, I'm sorry for him seeing his Xenoblade series is not as loved as Splatoon or Mario Maker. They're getting the attention he doesn't want them to get. He'd rather have the dull, faded game of Xenoblade X have the limelight. Splatoon after all has been given its own event coming up pretty soon, included in a nation-wide tour, and its own amiibo series. But preferences and preferences, but dull, faded X is nothing eye-catching to me. And Metal Gear Solid, is something I can care less.
I'm not sure if I exist on some higher plane when it comes to appreciating art, but I can appreciate absolutely anything with good art, it doesn't matter the style or genre. I'd care to wager that if you aren't able to empathise with your fellow man to such a simple degree so as to understand why they like something, especially when it's something that a lot of people like, you really need to start trying. If you're trying to represent the thought process of ignorant Nintendofags abroad with this post and these aren't necessarily your own thoughts, then I totally fail to see what point you're trying to make.

Nintendo has revealed their E3 plans, and I'm extremely stoked, I'm really praying for a new Metroid, and maybe I'm stretching it... a new F-Zero. This is Nintendo's year to shine.

It seems Mega64 was involved for this one too, but they weren't even credited. I kind of liked the one last year with the Regginator a little better, but great nonetheless.

Jesus, these Splatoon commercials in the US are legitimately awful.

What makes me cringe more though is the comments section, people are saying "This doesn't represent us adult Nintendo fans!"
Uh... no shit, it's a game marketed towards kids. Of course, that doesn't mean we can't enjoy it, I'll be having fun with it, it's just don't demand for something of more 'adult quality', it's legitimately cringe, more than the commercial itself.

Also I'll be playing as a female inkling, I like the design way better personally.

I'm also looking forward, like every year, to check out Nintendo's plans for this incoming year. Lets hope that an evaluation doesn't fall in that day.
