People in Poland are still shitting their pants over that. I'm not because I'm a nitwit with a big dick and never watched that show.
If you wanted I could try and stick the episodes I have on to a DVD and mail it to you if you wanted? Sadly I only use my phone for internet access at home (the issue of living near the Black Hole of Calcutta for internet connections!) so I couldn't upload but I have all the Moomins in digital format.OldClassicGamer wrote:Hm, maybe I should rewatch it. Quality over quantity my friend. There's a shit ton of Spongebob but the past five or six years have changed it from being one of my favourite shows to a big pile of nonsense. It feels like they stopped writing episodes and just put in whatever comes into their minds.OldClassicGamer wrote:I never said it did not end fine, but having more episodes after movie would be even better.
This is the current day formula:OldClassicGamer wrote:I never even looked at new SpongeBob episodes because I was lazy to search for them on internet, and local TV station stopped brodcasting SpongeBob few years ago. I guess I am not missing much
Sadly, that appears to have been their fomula for many years now. They should've, and were orignally going to, end the show with the movie. But no, fucking Nickelodeon had to cash cow the show even more and turn into into a steaming pile of dog shit.Keane wrote:This is the current day formula:OldClassicGamer wrote:I never even looked at new SpongeBob episodes because I was lazy to search for them on internet, and local TV station stopped brodcasting SpongeBob few years ago. 1) Fill up a 12 episode DVD with 7 episodes where Plankton tries to steal the recipe
2) Make Spongebob do absolutely pointless things because randomness is obviously hilarious
3) Can't think of an ending? Fuck it! Just have a nonsensical, abrupt end.
Agreed. GF and WOY are both very promising and keep my faith in cartoons alive. I haven't seen too much of Gravity Falls yet, and I already love it as mcuh as I can love a show - with all of my heart. I actually hated Adventure Time in the beginning, but I've recently started getting into it. It's not as good as GF, but I still like it and it definitely has more quality and potentional than any other modern day, trashy cartoon out there. In addition to the quality, another problem I have with many modern day cartoons is the drawing style of them. Cartoons of today are cheap, easily, computer drawn toons and it bothers me too much. Yes, it's much easier to simply use a computer, but could they at least put some effort into it? As the times went by the quality of the style of cartoons went lower and lower, eventually falling into the crapper.Bradandez wrote:Ah I love Gravity Falls! My favorite modern cartoon as of now and Wander looks like it's gonna be 2nd. Adventure Time...ehh...I don't really like it.
Hmm, I have to agree after reading that and thinking things over a bit more. There are cartoons with good art styles out there, but I guess I focuse a bit too much on older cartoons with good art styles and newer ones with bad styles. Just more of my nostalgia speaking. I've also noticed that Cartoon Network has started to pick up some good shows lately so my faith in cartoons is definitely still there. It's Nickelodeon that's really bothering me - absolutely no good cartoons on it nowadays. Even Disney has Gravity Falls and Wander Over Yonder, which both make up for the vast amounts of tasteless crap that is the rest of their awful shows.GNineify wrote:The art styles vary greatly today. Sure there is quite a lot of crap, but why complain about them when there's just as much great ones? I just ignore these little stains of imperfection and focus on the ones that have effort and quality in them. Most popular ongoing and future CN series (Adventure Time, Regular Show, Steven Universe) and some shows from other networks (Gravity Falls, The Legend of Korra) are not only good plot wise, but they're also animated completely in traditional frame-to-frame methods, where cheap Flash-ish keyframe animation is rare. Just like in the good ol' days. And I don't see what's so bad about keyframe animation either in some cases, most notably in Wander Over Yonder (Which is animated using ToonBoom, a Flash-like program, but I also noticed quite a lot of tiny parts that were animated traditionally when a character's movement required it, so it's more of a hybrid of these two).
