Yeah, I remembered when I saw the filename was "aardappel". Still, there must be another copy of it somewhere!

I am stunned that this didn't happen sooner!
Me too back in the time. There were videos but the walkthroughs were not finished. I decided to do it and even by today I still keep getting messages of people thanking me for the R1 videos!

Really? Wow. I guess you're right, given that I never even finished mine back in 2007 lol, which was made as an attempt to finish someone's even older unfinished walkthrough.

Tbh had I been conscious of the absence of such a walkthrough I'd probably have made one myself back in 09.

This doesn't add up. Raylex banned LovePédale in November 2014, I remember it distinctly. Also, shouldn't LovePédale be in the doc?

Well, as you've probably guessed, I kinda forgot when Raylex officially left his position, so I placed the entry around the time he stopped being active. Should I change it to November, or does anyone know any better?

As for LovePédale, while I'd rather avoid giving trolls too much credit, it's true that it was a rather notorious event as almost all of the community stupidly fell for it. Fancy writing the entries?

Well, seemingly he was still in situ as of April 2015: http://web.archive.org/web/201504061403 ... ?f=20&t=15

I did, almost two years ago. :P
PluMGMK wrote:About the scoring community, as far as I can tell it's mostly rehashing the same old arguments again and again, so probably not particularly noteworthy.

EDIT: I thought I'd done this, but apparently not, so:
November 2014
> User LovePédale joins and begins trolling in the French and English forums. Since this user is a troll who seems to have a good knowledge of the community (choosing a name that parodies that of a French moderator), most members assume that it is someone who has previously been a member. Some jump to the conclusion that it is GeekOfTheGame, and LovePédale makes no effort to correct this, eventually even going along with it.
> LovePédale is banned for a week by super moderator Raylex.

December 2014
> LovePédale returns and continues pretending to be GeekOfTheGame, but not convincingly. #Rubber mark# also reappears, and starts talking to LovePédale in a way that implies that they are one and the same.
> After heated confrontations with other members, #Rubber mark# "reveals" himself to be LovePédale. He is banned for a week and the sockpuppet account is banned indefinitely.
Though I guess there was a good reason it wasn't added in this form, anyone got any better writeup?

All right, I've updated the documentary. As for Raylex I've moved the entry to late November as that's when he really left (his permissions weren't updated immediately due to negligence on the admin's part ).

Isn't that just typical? Who does he think he is anyway, strutting around here like he owns the place? :tssk:

In all seriousness though, should "PluMGMK and Adsolution return to the forums" be an entry just after Record Day? :mryellow:

I know, that guy is such a wanker. Not sure if King Comment ? is a better alternative though. :P

I think so, after all your departure was mentioned so it would make sense to mention your return as well. Do you have the dates?

Also, while looking for the phpBB RaymanZone archive (I really should lift that activity restriction, it's not like bandwidth is a problem nowadays), I found another archive, for the Groupee RaymanZone this time. No idea who created it but if there's anything interesting in there we probably want to make a copy of it before it goes down.

Oh neat, I didn't know there was an archive. This will be cool to look at.

Well, Ad apparently returned on the 25th, and as Inco said my return was on Record Day itself, whenever that was.

The Groupee RZ? Interesting. I looked at that on Archive.org itself years ago, I found some interesting stuff (including certain info that some would have preferred to remain buried :mefiant:) so it's probably worth mirroring all right. I'll have a look later on. (Also yeah, given that RayTunes is available to all, I guess that restriction doesn't really make a lot of sense!)

Cool, I'll copy it and add it to ours when I have a bit of time.

Also, there's still very little information in the doc about 2016, especially the past few months. Anything else worth mentioning?

Because the host is Czech? In any case, he hasn't posted in ten years and the last time he visited the forum was three years ago so the website could be taken down any minute for all we know. Did you get to check the content?

Well, because it's Czech, and because of the style of header used. I think it's somewhat similar to the one he had on his prize-winning fansite. Then again, that's kinda superficial. Still, who else would it be?
As for content, well, there's a fanfic, which isn't finished, and some other "fan-art" related stuff riddled with dead links. I think it could be worth preserving though, just to see what the forums were like in general back then. Also, if we started archiving Groupee-RZ stuff I'm sure I could find more someday, like I did for the phpBB archive.

Yeah, nothing of great interest, really. But like you said, it's always good to see what the forums looked like after phpBB, so I'll probably add it anyway. :)
