I've known that trick for quite some time (I have a YT vid on it if you don't believe me), but, the game wasn't designed for Widescreen, and I don't like the stretched out scoreboard and the screwed-up menus, I'd rather get the game which has HD textures, and native widescreen support.
But, out of curiosity, is it possible to share some images of the game running on your PC with 32x QSAA?
Sure, I just gotta get home first.

Nice news about the Rayman 3 HD, just read it on Destructoid. If the price is right, I'll probably pick it up.

Nintendo have been really behind when it comes to downloadable games and it shows when you check the Shop channel and see there's been about 3 new (really crappy) games put up on there in the last several months. Hopefully they will be far more competent with the Wii U: at least a 100GB harddrive installed, background downloading like the 360/PS3 and bigger limit for downloadable games.
It would also be nice if we didn't have to give up our credit cards to afford a game console. The price for a PS3 when it was released is outrages.
Oh yeah, I remember paying out £250 for my old model back in 2008, and it was second hand. Bought a new slim model recently for £190. While you can fetch a Wii for around £80-100 now, you simply get a lot more tech for your money in either a 360/PS3 so they are worth what they go for now.

TBH game consoles now are probably cheaper than they've ever been. Ever look into how much consoles like the Sega Saturn, Neo Geo or even just the Sega 32X add on cost back when they came out? Of course you have to take inflation into account but yeah...gaming has never been cheap but it's not too bad now if you look hard enough for good deals.

It is true. The nowadays game consoles can do much more than the consoles of the past decade/two decades. If we make the maths of what we used to give for just a game console at those times, ehehe.

It reminds me this add:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjDm5ERiC4A

That was in Portuguese Escudos, our currency before the Euro. If we convert this to Euros, they were asking at the time approximately 122,45€ :P.

Great news! I also read it on Destructoid: http://www.destructoid.com/rayman-3-hoo ... 6353.phtml
If this really has higher audio quality I'll probably redo the soundtrack... again.
The upgraded textures are nice, but they messed up the score counter texture and some background textures. I kind of wish they would add noticeable stuff like blades of grass or a whole new lighting engine though. It would make it seem more worth it. Right now the Dolphin version still looks better here.
I'll still buy it though, being the Rayman stuff collector I am. :P

Super happy to see that Rayman 3 is FINALLY getting a port!! I'm just a tad disappointed because it's only on XBL and PSN. Hopefully this is just a start for releasing Rayman 3 ports cause Id love to get a copy on my 3DS.

Rayman 3 in stunning high definition picture quality? Sure, I'll get this. Maybe Ubi-Soft could introduce an HD port of Rayman Revolution sometime in the future as well?

Totally getting the HD version.
I know many will disagree with this, but Rayman 3 is, imo, the best Rayman game in the series! Or maybe RO will surpass it :?

I would purchase this version if it were to have updated graphics, but that probably isn't the case.

Master4lyf1, I'll take the screenshot tomorrow while Ii'm ripping models for TeensieKing.

I'm not sure if the fandom would be all too pleased about another port of Rayman 2/Revolution.

I have known that since I got Rayman 3 with a Polish newspaper, because they said it there clearly. OOMTZ OOMTZ

HD remakes are nice and all, but I'd be more excited if they would release a collection. Hell, imagine a collection featuring all the original games with complete graphical overhauls for each, and extra stuff such as 'Making of' videos and trailers. Maybe it could even include a version of Rayman Designer that would allow you to trade homemade levels with others online.

Now that's an ambitious way of remaking old games, I'd buy the shit out of that!

I agree, but that would be the ultimate gift from Ubi, I can handle R3 HD at the moment, since it's the only Rayman game ubi has never been keen to shout about.

I’ve never understood the fans who whinge about ‘too many ports’. You all realise that you don’t have to buy every single version that comes out... right?

This is true, but many fans get excited once a new title is revealed and then they are often disappointed to discover it's an R2 port. I don't really mind either way - the more ports, the more spread, the more Rayman!

Though in fairness, most recent remakes usually have the consoles name in the title, rather than a unique title, so it is kinda easy to pinpoint remakes to new releases.

But Rayman Revolution never had a port itself, and I wouldn't find a bad bet of HD remaking as long as they fixed the framerate, glitches and textures.
