Well, uh, it's a teaser for the upcoming Silent Hill(s) game, so you can't exactly expect the experience that a full game would provide, and it seems to do what it's supposed to do fucking well.

Watching a playthrough of PT and I have to say... it's actually setting me on edge. That's incredibly rare for me when just watching a playthrough, but the game was so incredibly effective in how its bizzare pattern threw me off enough to not be able to sense what's coming, if anything, as much of what puts you on edge actually is no real threat whatsoever, sort of similar to some on the scares in the original SH trilogy. It's beyond false-alarm horror, the pattern is literally completely random to the point where it's near impossible to predict what will happen, and any prediction I made nearly always got proven wrong. I'm now even more hyped for Silent Hills.

The game does a fantastic job of making you think there'll be a scare and then there not being one. It always gets you when you least expect it and does it well. Plus the fact that there's puzzle elements among the scares, making you go back to certain sections where you need something makes it all the worse. You always have that feeling that someone is breathing down your neck.

Yep, it takes me back to the SH trilogy, since that had similar sorts of scares (in that they both relied very much on psychological and false alarm horror), except they magnify the false alarm mechanic to the point where you're actually wrong about your predictions most of the time.

I definitely can't wait for P.T to come out, even if I don't own a PS4 xD I'll go to my bud's house and play it.
