If someone tells me that he hates Pac-Man, I just ask why out of curiosity and thats about it. Heck, one friend of mine IRL hates Pac-Man with passion and told me it is in his opinion worst game ever created. When I asked him why, he told me he will make video about it and he did. I still consider him good friend either way since its his right to dislike anything he wants.

That all maybe fine and dandy but your friend didn't exactly throw himself into a conversation about Pacman just to state that he hates Pacman.

In honesty, I'm not irked about disliking Minecraft, "different strokes for different blokes," and all that. It's more due to the insulting hate, essentially giving hearty approval to Microsoft potentially ruining it. I don't care if you hate something, but I can't say I respect the stance of someone wanting a game to be ruined for those who actually like it, just because they don't. That's just petty, hate on Minecraft all you want, but at least give respect to those who do like it and enjoy it.

EDIT: Notch has made a post regarding his departure: http://notch.net/2014/09/im-leaving-mojang/
Well, it's fair enough, I can't say I'm comfortable with MS on the reins, but if he felt he was losing himself, then I think freeing himself was probably the right call.

I do not under any circumstances respect the want to ruin something for everyone else who finds enjoyment in it, simply because you don't. It isn't okay on any level. I hope you eventually learn that enjoyment truly is 100% subjective, because then stupid thoughts like these won't even cross your mind.

Looks like he hasn't learned the aforementioned yet. You're respecting a pretty irrational point of view. Believe it or not, not everything that has 'in my opinion' tacked onto it can or should be respected.

OCG, if you're looking to be a mod you should probably prevent this sort of stuff, it's not gonna get you any brownie points for sure. I wouldn't know since I'm not a mod but I'd really think that kind of stuff doesn't go down well with them... anyways, I have nothing against Minecraft. It's not my thing, but truth be told some REALLY creative stuff can be done in it, remember what Earth Gwee did for RPC in Minecraft? It was pretty awesome.

OCG is trying to be come a mod? That explains a lot. Well not this.

It certainly doesn't.

Considering the old Pac-man sig of his saying "Make OCG a mod" I'd assume that's what he wants really.

Meh, I don't think that needs to be dragged in, I just want to understand how disliking a game gives justification to the desire to want it spoiled for those who do like it.

I agree with Master. Just because you don't a game doesn't mean you have to make other people not like it either.

Who said anything about don'ting games? We're talking about liking them, the second half of your post is a non-sequitur. :(

I only brang up the topic because if OCG really looks to be a mod then that behavior should be stopped, that is all.

Anyways my thoughts on the situation, wait... didn't Notch once complain about Oculus Rift being sold to a big company? I guess 2 billion dollars made him change his mind.

Or the fact that it was all getting a bit too much for such a small company to handle? :P

It sounded like they lost the desire more than anything, but the only thing I can hope for is the best for Minecraft. Only time will tell how it goes under Microsoft's control.

Actually that is the reason why Notch not only handed Mojang over but also left Mojang. I read an article about how he felt like Minecraft was too big to handle because he only wanted to make games for the fun of it and Minecraft just ended up becoming too popular. [Source]

So what do you guys fear now that Minecraft is under Microsoft's control?
