I knew it would lead to that result. :P

You've seen Shawn of the Dead, then? The Cornetto Trilogy is a work of legend.

Watched Dragon Ball Z Battle of Gods uncut Saturday, and I really enjoyed it! kinda weird seeing everyone in color though, especially Bulma with that crazy blue hair.

I just saw The Book Thief. A lovely film with a touching, heart-felt story, though it's depressing and extremely thought-provoking. Definite recommend if you can stomach war stories.

Hotel Transylvania was a good film. I know I ripped on CGI as not being on par with Traditional Animation, but this film has animation so fluid as if it were traditional animated.

I have a pretty low opinion on Adam Sandler as a professional, so I've steered clear from anything he's been in within the last decade or so. But I really should check out Hotel Transylvania if only for the animation alone.

Let's not disregard Adam Sandler's credibility though, he acts very well in that movie. He has good ideas and can act very well, he's just been executing almost none of them recently.

I just saw In Time last night. Having heard lots about it, I was pretty excited. In the end, it was a dumb movie that made almost no sense, had critical logic flaws within its very premise that are impossible to ignore, a million plotholes anyone could spot, and bad acting. On the upside, given the premise and that it didn't fall short of delivering everything you'd want from it in spite of how dumb and flawed it was, I'd say it was entertaining.

Regarding the AVGN: The Movie, I'm honestly quite disappointed with most of it. The first two thirds is pretty much entirely forgettable and not much of a riot, containing nearly every nerdy, overused trope you can think of. The last third, however, was amazing. They stepped it up fifty notches here with genuinely amazing action scenes, hilariously creative writing and some of the most fun-to-watch effects I've ever seen in an indie movie. I'd say watch it just for that final act alone.

It is, right? I wanted to read the books before watching the films, so I'd better go get them, seeing as I have the Extended editions lying on my cupboard right hyeare.

I was about to be sad when you said what you did, Ad, but then I remembered that the movie I really enjoyed was called From Time to Time and not In Time. I keep messing that name up!

I saw In time. It was the thing with the time as currency right? Eh, it didn't make any sense at all. Even the first thing you see basically, how the hell can they have a digital clock biologically grown into their arms from birth?
Is much stoopid.

Anyway, I'm going to re-watch fellowship and then the others so I can watch all 3 in order in one day.

I recently watched The Wind Rises. Definitely one of Miyazaki's finest. The whole film has a lot to take in, so I'll watch it again when the Blu-Ray version officially releases here in North America.

Can you go out and purchase it now or something? I've been wanting to see it.

Very much agreed, I was really looking forward to this too. I really think fan hype got the best of me. The green screen effects on few scenes of the movie were laughably bad. Though the final scenes of the movie were grand, no doubt. It surprises me to see someone so highly invested in movies and we end up with a meh-ish movie, especially with the HUGE amount of donations James recieved.

Has anyone got some god-tier movies to recommend to me? Any genre is fine, I'm just interested in watching some very good movies right now.

No idea what genre you like, but some of my favorites are:

Moon, inception, shutter island, donny darko

If you don't like one, you probably wont like the rest.

But really, I would suggest a ghibli movie, they are definateley god-tier in many's eyes
I'd suggest:

Princess mononoke, spirited away, nausicca, howls moving castle

Definitely. Ghibil has possibly become my favorite animation studio, or even film studio period. They've made so many great films. If you're wanting a film with a complex and compelling story I'd recommend watching Princess Mononoke or The Wind Rises.

Recently, I saw The Box Trolls. Definitely a movie worth seeing. The stop-motion is some of the finest I've ever seen, all the characters are charming and memorable and brilliantly performed, and the story is nicely executed. It could've been a little better in terms of the story itself, but there was nothing bad in the story at all. And the way the villain goes, laughably ironic is all I'll say. Nothing too groundbreaking like Coraline or Paranorman, considering it's the same studio, Laika, but still well worth the money. I want to see these guys grow as a studio. They are madly talented.

Hmm I've been hearing a fair deal of praise for The Box Trolls. At first glance it didn't seem like it would be anything too special, but I guess I was wrong! I was also unaware that it was made by the same studio that created Coraline and Paranorman, but I can imagine I would've been a lot more excited about it if I had known.
