I'm surprised that no one talked yet about this footage of Rayman SNES prototype, revealed by Michel Ancel on his instagram page one week ago :

Rayman SNES in motion . The little ugly guy is alive after a 24 years night . This ROM might be the first one we burnt and contains very few stuff . We might find more ROM with other early prototypes . I just need to convice Fred, the coder who revealed their existence to continue the search in his vast and dangerous attic. Man, this is electronic archeology !

I never had RRR, so for me it's very rare! :D
By the way, I compare this pictures with what was written in this topic about information and files of original Rayman Raving Rabbids, extracted from final game.

If not to take into account WORLD 1 (no info), it looks like pictures are in a chronological order as worlds in that game should be.

The Rayman reading a book artwork is really awesome, never saw it before!

I'll add it to the RayWiki tonight, if you didn't do so already. ;)

You never cease to amaze me with your findings, great job!
The book picture is already known (at least I knew it) but only in a small sized picture. It was used for the educational titles of the golden era of the franchise. I did not think it could be found a larger render!

This is really puzzling me, I can't find an official source for this image:

Image

It looks like the normal PAL box art but the render is different. The only somewhat official upload I can find anywhere on the internet is, oddly enough, Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rayman_3:_Hoodlum_Havoc uses a cropped version of this image as the main article image, which according to the file info (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Rayman_3.jpg) was taken from this website http://www.tothegame.com/GameInfo.aspx?GameId=1106 but it requires some kind of subscription to view the full image.

There seems to be a Gamecube one too:

Image

You can just about see the gamecube banner curve at the top, but for some odd reason the "PAL" box is solid white.

So where on earth did http://www.tothegame.com get the original image from? What makes this difficult to investigate is that there are hardly any instances of this box art on the web. Searching for similar images with google yields no more than about 8 images, none of which point to useful results. I'm guessing maybe this was released only in a small area, or maybe it's an early box?

I guess this is an early box art and they changed it due his expression. I must admit I like the unused expression on the boxart more than the finished one. Rayman looks badass and really angry. I try finding something about this.

Actually, I think this is a cover art for later releases, I think I found it on eBay for XBOX.
Either way I actually like this cover, it has some errors that ruin it, but it's still pretty neat.

Here a bigger resolution. I really wish for a Rayman 3 copy which has the expression on it! I like it very much and I guess, I am the only one XD

Another weird thing is that the letters/lums of "HOODLUM HAVOC™" cast shadows on his LockJaw. Has that been seen on other versions of the cover?

Interestingly, I can't seem to find any images of the alternate box-art that haven't been scanned in. It definitely seems like that this box-art is rarer. Also, notice how the gun on the bottom-centre Hoodlum is facing left on the alternate box-art.

EDIT: Image

It's pretty identical to the Wikipedia Xbox boxart, apart from the banner. I think it's safe to say that this has been pieced together somewhat, although I am unsure of the original source. It even has the PAL banner in the style of PS2 games. The ebay image linked above is interesting though, as the PAL banner is in the style of Xbox games as you would expect.

I wonder if there's a possibility that this comes from the Rayman 3 Press Kit.

Mhmm, maybe the gamecube cover was just a quick mock-up made by ubisoft? Odd...
Also I just checked OCG Video of the boxart images included in the press kit, kinda thought that it would've been there but sadly it's not in there (this may actually prove my theory that this was actually a later release of the game)
EDIT: Just checked my copies to see if that hoodlum havoc reflection on the lockjaw was also in other releases and oddly enough it wasn't anywhere, why would they even add that reflection?
Also I hate how they replaced the angry black lums with stupid ones and made the hoodlum less menacing, really ruins the cover..
