Ugh. I'm so fucking sick and tired of these kinds of things. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for equality, but this just paints feminism in a bad light. Exploiting children and creating false statements is not the way to convince people to agree with your ideology, it just discredits it as a whole.

This is the first I've seen of them so I don't know their background but they seem incredibly stupid and close minded. It's kind of sickening that people have actually shown support for this in the comments, but then again the Youtube comments section is a cesspool in general, so I don't know what I was expecting.

Just saw that you brought that up. That's obviously completely untrue, at least the way it's explained.

For example, you cannot say that the first intermediate result is 1/2 because the series does not converge. However, using an alternative method of summation, you can get 1/2 (according to Wikipedia, that's the Cesàro summation).

The same goes with the way they are rearranging an infinite number of terms, it doesn't work with standard addition.

In the end, some alternative methods of summation do yield that result of -1/12, but the true value in the usual sense is +∞.
