Indeed, I think it may be best to lock this until next year, but I'll wait for the opinions of others, after all, the topic naturally disappeared after last years record.

Even if it is only for RD, we certainly don't want to warrant another lock on it for lack of creativity like it did this past RD.

I don't really see the point in locking it, as it's highly unlikely people will enjoy bonking very much outside of Record Day. Also, by locking something until a specified event I find to be entirely similar to designating it as a Record Day topic. Personally, I find the idea of being able to post in threads you 'can' normally post in more fun.
