It's just that you keep bringing it up, tech. If you really don't care about people quoting you, if you don't mind being used as an example, then why do you keep saying that you do mind, because that makes it feel like you do care and that you don't want people to quote you. That, I find odd. Anyone should be able to call on anything anybody else said and add their own thoughts to the previous's statements.

It's moreso kind of like the case where someone unintentionally says something insulting, and while you realize that person wasn't intending to insult you, you can't help but feel insulted anyway. Mind you, that isn't the case here, but my feelings about it are comparable to that hypothetical scenario above (the feeling bothered by it mostly coming from it happening in the past more frequently than I'd like), which I suppose is my own problem; I was kind of just trying to explain (evidently poorly) how I felt about it, not what I actually believed.

I most definitely do care, it's just that logically I know it's not anything against me. It still bugs me and all.

I don't want to be that guy who gets offended by any sort of criticism, so I actually prefer for you to keep doing so when you feel the need arises, I was moreso just sort of explaining my somewhat defensive reaction in this case.

Anyway, I'd kinda rather stop talking about this, since I'm not really advocating for or requesting anything, I just got kind of irritated when the discussion went into this tangent.

Well speaking of the Final Solution, Toy Story 4 has been announced and has a release year of 2017.

Thoughts?

Personally, I want to say no to this idea. I love the Toy Story franchise and its entirety of films, shorts, and merchandise but this feels too soon and unnecessary. I felt Toy Story 3 ended the film series perfectly and the shorts are great for those who want more.

It kind of makes me feel like if they'd announce a Shrek 5 already. Shrek 4 ended with such a statement as if to say "You know what, we're done with Shrek for a while. Not forever necessarily, but for a while." and it wouldn't feel right for them to suddenly back up on that statement because they ran out of inspiration to come up with new characters and stories or whatever. I'm on a similar boat as you are, Bradz - though I've enjoyed every TS movie that's come out to date, and I trust Pixar's ideas near to blindly - not a movie they made has disappointed me so far.

Pixar didn't have anything to deal with Planes. They did in the beginning but sometime in the development they realized how awful and shitty this idea was and said "wow, this is shit." And they took their talent some place else.

That still brings Cars 2 into question. I actually didn't think it was as bad as most people say it was, but I still think it's Pixar's worst film.

Eh, I liked Cars 2. I thought the Spy theme was entertaining and fun. I wouldn't categorize any Pixar film with the title "Worst", because frankly I enjoyed them all.

Btw Shroob, they did announce a Shrek 5. IT AIN'T OGRE YET!

Yup, Cars 2 is probably Pixar's 'worst' movie. Explanation is simple : I was impressed by most of their movies, and for this particular one I was like 'meh' at the end.

Well, nobody can be perfect. At least they are doing better than Dreamworks in that regard.

Considering how the third ended, I clearly don't see the point of making a new TS.

Whoops, you got me there. Thing is, I didn't like the premise of a Cars 2 to begin with; Cars was over when Cars ended. It was a fun movie with a cute story and it should have stayed there. They needn't give it a spin in the sequel-caroussel like just about everything gets nowadays - say they'd make a Brave 2. They shouldn't. It doesn't need it. If they did, I'd still go see it, but I'd be disappointed about their decision to make one. Same goes for Wall-E: doesn't need a sequel, would rather have that it doesn't get one either.

Now, as far as the film goes, after I put myself passed that little pickle - yeah, I enjoyed it. There were some great, funny moments in there. The wasabi scene is my favourite. I like James Bond spoofs - they work well because just about everybody knows what a normal Bond film is about so they can see the humour in the parody. That, or they just think it's 'cool'.

For note: I do not think living spy cars are cool. But the movie itself was okay.

I need to ammend my previous statement: not a movie Pixar made that I've seen has disappointed me so far, which is why I trust them when it comes to movie ideas.

They should have left monsters inc alone. 'Twas a great singular movie, there was no need for a sequel.

I actually loved Monsters University. Naturally, given its setting, it isn't going to be as surreal as the original, but I don't mind that. I always find it interesting to see characters put up in a different setting, so long as it's done well, and I thought they did it very well. The drama surrounding Mike's lacking ability felt very genuine and compelling, and the way it tied into the first movie, it made the first movie all the more meaningful - it's not often you see an afterthought sequel/prequel tie in so well like that and make you love the franchise even more.

I'd like to add that the scene at night near the lake house (?) was sublime. I enjoyed every creeping second of it. The setting of Monsters Inc. was more fun, more playful, more friendly towards kids' imagination, I feel - and University took characters many of us know from our childhood and played with them in a different setting, a different story. I feel it could have gone a lot worse.
