Personally, I don't see what about it rings 'odd' when you take into account simple matters of preference. Someone wants to be a scientist, someone wants to be female, what makes the latter any odder than the former despite it simply being much less common? I see it as totally fine to be curious as to why someone would want to pursue something unusual, but viewing it as an oddity is basically just distancing yourself from a totally rational concept. Not that I'm aiming this at you, rather at people like incognito, though I could be depending on what you mean by 'odd'.

It's just an odd concept to me, no matter if the reason is valid or not. I'm not saying that EVERYONE should consider it odd, or that the thing in and of itself is odd, but that I find it odd.

But I'm sure if you were to choose to side with valid reasoning rather than the baseless influence of media, popular culture and sociality, the concept would no longer seem odd to you. Not that everyone has the motivation to do so, but I consider it a shame for it to be passed up.

It's more just the concept of switching your gender that's strange to me, since I never had that desire, but not to the point where I think people shouldn't have the ability to do it if they so choose. It's kind of similar to how elderly citizens find digital technology strange, though that admittedly can sometimes be belligerent ignorance.
